The closest adaptation to Dracula was BBCs 1977 Count Dracula. Slower, shortened in many ways, but it also showed a lot more than you almost never see in any other iteration. There, there also combined a few characters, but all in all, that movie follows more closely to Stoker's original novel.

Agreed on the '77 BBC version! Slower is true... I also found the aesthetics underwhelming. Thanks for watching!

Great analysis! Dracula is one of my all time favorite novels so it’s great to see it given some love here on booktube. Mina is 100% the hero of the story! I appreciate that you didn’t spend your time trying to claim that Dracula was really just a sexually repressed individuals therapy session like so many try to claim. I was fascinated by your points about the various inspirations that Stoker probably had for the novel. Well researched and well articulated!

Thanks so much Hunter! I was surprised to learn how much research Bram Stoker put into Dracula. I'm happy you enjoyed the video! :)
