This was such a great discussion! I finished a few days ago and am sorry for the delayed comment. I didn't know about your religious background, Jordan. So interesting getting to know more about you and hearing how successful Philip has been with gaining an audience. That's not easy for any author these days!

Thanks for watching, Johanna! Yes, Philip deserves all the success that comes his way. It's nice to see that you've made it to book 3. Actually, I think you finished the whole trilogy, unless I'm mistaken? Hope you're enjoying your summer! Happy reading. :)

A very stimulating discussion as always. I know what you guys mean when you say that you find these types of long form discussions to be the most special videos for you guys. The long form discussion videos and my podcast are some of my favorite videos that I get to do on my channel. I get to talk with people and hear their perspectives, I can't get enough of it. Keep it up Jordan! A great video as always.

Awesome talk, Jordan! Both me and «Library of a Viking» are Christians and can fully back your statement that Professor Chase show great care in his Religious World Building and Characters, indeed! Actually, as am I sure the Professor also knows, the Early Christian Church was known as «The Way», taken from Jesus saying in John 14:6: «I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.» («Via, Veritas et Vita» in Latin). Excited to hear your thoughts on «The Way of Edan»! 😃 (Will definitly be commenting with my own list of references and notes! 😅😄) Wish you and your the best of luck on your novel! Just finished «The Dragonbone Chair» (Memory, Sorrow & Thorn #1) by Tad Williams, which was a huge inspiration for GRRM creating «A Song of Ice and Fire» and I know Professor Chase has also read the Trilogy, so I can definitly recommend you to check it out! PS: Currently reading «The Darkness That Comes Before», so will definitley be checking out your review/analysis! Cheers!

Thank you so much! Yes, before I picked up the book, I assumed the Way (Do or Dao or Tao) was referring to Taoism, but once I saw that it was a monotheistic religion I figured it had taken some inspiration from Christianity, at the very least. I'm excited to hear that you're reading Dragonbone Chair---I would love to review that on my channel at some point. Also, do check out my review of Darkness That Comes Before. I go deep into the philosophy behind that book. :)

@@iWizard Looking forward to it! If all comes to plan, I might actually meet the Good Professor in person this Summer! If so, I will definitely talk to him on the influence of «Memory, Sorrow & Thorn»: Even though the influence on «Edan» could be more indirect through GRRM (had great fun catching the many, many nods from George! 😄), I do genuinly think Professor Chase is closer in spirit to Tad then George!
