2:20:22 my mom actually has a lot of stories about bundy. she was living in a college town in washington while her dad got his degree when bundy killed a woman there, and then years later when he was killing in florida she was living there too. when they executed him, my grandpa turned off all the lights in the house and told my mom and uncle it was “to give them more juice to fry him with”

Here's a fun fact, the late night "reality show" cops was literally invented in response to the LA riots and other similar incidents where the police walked free when they shouldn't have. It was done specifically as copaganda. Also: paw patrol isn't just copaganda, it's also misogynistic copaganda

(timestamp 2:05:04) shows where the police are made to look stupid, especially when the police are a major player in the show, is also copaganda because unconsciously our brains equate stupidity/inability with innocence. Essentially, infantilizing the police makes them seem not to blame, or like they dont have the ability to actually accomplish anything (when in actuality the system works exactly as intended)
@hauntedmuppets1470
@hauntedmuppets1470 2 жыл бұрын
The only way a show truly involving the police can be not-copaganda is if it is actively calling out what the police as a system, and the police as individuals do. If it makes them seem more powerful/skilled or more funny/lighthearted, then its making us like the cops, if its making them seem unskilled/weak or the bad apple/the good one then its making them seem more innocent and or redeemable.
@Flanneryschickens
@Flanneryschickens 2 жыл бұрын
I think you can do it but you'd have to be careful as to how it's executed in order to get the point across that the system isn't broken, it's working just as intended (aka not working to help certain people).

52:10 Two things. I recognise this is late but still. You can put armerstands inside blocks using pistons to push them down, maybe try putting a half block on the bottom and full on top? Second, corners are weird, much as back in the early days you could see light through stairs and such from the corners. Mobs can also hit you through corner gabs, just like how you can pick up items from a corner, as long as there's not directly a block on the other side, it still counts as free space, and it just goes through like there's a gap. So I'd say to put staircase there to coushin the gap, and also help to elevate you, while still being far enough back for them to not hit. Just a friendly suggestion. For anyone who might be curious. Edit: just wanted to add you could put another staircase in front of the armer stand facing towards the aforementioned one, so they give a nice platform and also block it off there, while still being able to hit the armerstand. Might not even need the piston block push. 53:55 Wow! I was gonna add it to my comment, but decided it wasn't worth it. Guess I must've known someone else got it already. ;P 55:00 Oh. Guess I'm not that psychic after all. Tubbo best me to the piston suggestion. :( 1:01:10 OH! Idea. What if you put a trapdoor or something you can close in front of them so you can focus one side at a time and be protected from the other. If you can't take both on. Just single them out, with procausions in place.

2:03:30 The fact I recognize these by names. :( I honestly partially grew up on these shows, as far as TV channels went. But when it was the morning it was Gilligan's Island, Brady Bunch, and the like, I won't bother listing them all here. But older comedy based ones mostly in grayscale some colour, lot of family or family esque relationships. When it came to playing things on the DVD/VHS player in my room. Scooby-Doo. I have an entire shelf dedicated to Scooby-Doo. But does that count if their detectives? Or are they a separate category? Now that's what I'm wondering.

20:40 Strange, the one block wide half a block tall siders, seem to fit in one block wide half a block tall gaps. I seem to recall Sneeg claiming to his chat that this is not possible. Curious. It's almost like the two by two block wide one block tall spiders, would only be eligible to spawn in two by two wide one block tall spaces or greater. And would be able to fit through such gaps as well. This sounds aggressive, I know realize this. Though I merely meant it to be ironic humour.

1:55:50 Not to defend people's behaviour. But to be fair, chats can go pretty fast, sometimes even unreadable, so you kinda have to in certain instances to even see it on screen. Even streamers do it in other streamers chat, though that tends to be a friend with friend so there's benefit there. But like it's done with reason. I mean you shouldn't be demanding it, you should be like "kind word of advice" but I can see if the chats going fast enough how someone would be worried about it. That sort of thing stresses me out. Part of the reason I don't actually watch things live, besides my shitty Verizon Wi-Fi that is.
