To be specific. They are Fullbringers. Not natural one, however. Usually they are 'Budded' by Hollow energies and have powers at young age. Chad and Orihime however got 'budded' by the Hogyoku. Chad partially seems to have some Hollow energy, while Orihime entirely without.

I'm just gonn say that around this time there's set up for some stuff that will take a while to come, like explanations for Chad's powers, or Orihime's character development. The arrancar saga is the longest and not everything that's introduced here gets its resolution in it, so just be patient and consider that not everything will be resolved within one arc in Bleach, but more in long form now. Kisuke's reason for trying to keep Orihime out of battle does come soon tho, I think.

The whole point is that the healers will always be on the front lines and squad 4 are soul reapers trained to defend themselves but since Orihime lost her only attack all she has is her healing and a shield that gets broken easily Yami broke it with one finger so she has basically no means of self defense and she’s supposed to go out there and heal people on the battlefield and keep in mind she also has to defend the people she’s healing not just herself so not only is she endangering herself she is endangering others
