Easy Spring Pike on Lake Couchiching

I normally don't like the local boat ramps during the Spring/Summer months but thankfully the $50 fee's are keeping a few folks away. I decided to take my chance and visit Lake Couchiching for some spring time Pike. It's been a few years since I've done this but if memory serves, spinnerbaits in the weeds are the key.
As it turned out, the weeds aren't really up so we had to find some structure. We decided to pick a drop off close to deep water and we found the pike.
Learning to fish, one cast in the trees at a time.

Where is a good spot to fish in orillia without a boat?

Once the waterfront is done, they have a great fishing dock. Spring has some great fishing in the little canals but summer is tough. I see guys fishing the narrows from the old train bridge. You can get there by taking the trail behind the strip mall by crates boats
