Next season and the season after that, O's pitching on paper should be lethal. Elias needs to re-sign Burnes. There is no salary cap, so pay him pretty good and don't low ball him. O's will need Burnes if they want to be serious about trying to win a WS!

You remind me of a John Lennon song Imagine. The lyrics say “You may say I’m a dreamer “❤ 😂Given the condition of our pitching it’s going to be a struggle to not only win the division but go deep into postseason. The amount of injuries to our pitching is unbelievable bad luck. GO O’S!!!!

It sucks to lose eflin. We just need to keep scoring like this until our rotation is healthy again. Go Os!

Eflin on IL is not serious. Just some inflammation, as the O's want to be xtra cautionary since Eflin has been the best O's starter since he was acquired for at the trade dead line. He probably just misses his next start since they use a 5 man rotation.

It really makes you wonder what the o’s training staff is doing to cause so many specifically pitching injuries
@dmonsef3 ай бұрын
@@lrut5274 Partially falls on the medical/physical training staff. Like I know for all types of athletes, strengthening the persons core can help reduce injuries to different parts of the athletes body. More days rest helps pitchers avoid Tommy John Surgery. All MLB teams have emphasized more speed and spin rate on pitches, rather than location of the ball over the plate(which usually requires putting less speed/spin on the ball). Pitchers are on timers now, so pausing between throws doesn't exist now. The bottom line, pitchers are putting too much stress on their throwing arms/shoulder, hence the more injuries to pitchers. Besides improving strength/conditioning for pitchers, maybe MLB should implement teams are required to increase the number of pitchers on their roster? More pitchers per team, means more rest for pitchers! Maybe a 6 man starting rotation should be required by all teams. There is a proposed idea of the starter has to go 6 innings(but we all know there has to be an exception to that rule when a pitcher reaches 100 pitches). 6 innings and 3 runs or less is considered a quality start for a pitcher, so I say make a pitcher have to go at least 5 innings(the min required for a starting pitcher to be eligible for a win).

If not for ridiculous number of injuries, the Os' would be the clear favorite to win it all this year. Unbelievable talent and youth. Just cant stop the bleeding with all these darn injuries. Weird, the Ravens seem to always have this same issue. Injuries all the time to key players.

Does anybody ever think that there might be something in the Orioles’ pitching philosophy, strategy, and or training that may be causing all these injuries to the arms? I have no inside info and I am not a pitching guru. It’s just that when you see the number of injuries on one staff start to pile up as they have for the O’s, you have to wonder if it’s more than just a coincidence or bad luck.
@bennettoberfeld6143 ай бұрын
I really think the Orioles need a whole new coaching staff, the way their starters are always getting injured, the way their bullpen sucks, and the way they can't hit with runners on base.
@dmonsef3 ай бұрын
100% agree. If it wasn't for being the top long ball team in the majors, the O's offensive production would be 15th in the majors instead of top 5. The issue with the O's starters and relievers, they lack strikeouts and getting that 3rd out in innings with opponents runners on base. I also see too many times an O's pitcher has an 0-2 count on a batter and that 3rd pitch is a ball. So lack of killer instinct to strike out batters. Regarding injuries, I'm sorry to say that baseball players are the worst conditioned pro athletes of the 4 major sports(NBA, NHL, NFL are 3 of the 4). If you add MLS, then MLB players are 5th in conditioning.
@racer14glr913 ай бұрын
I don't see how changing out the coaches would stop injuries? Hyde does pull pitchers too soon sometimes. All the stuff you point out is more on the players. Coaches control the situations, not how a player performs in them.

The pitch by Kremer at 1:55 was really pretty. As a fan of 50+ years, I wish I could see more of games, listen to them, be a part of them. BUT NO. MLB and their idiotic attitude is closing down the fan base. I became a fan listening to radio that was abundant and free [for the price of a radio]. 50 years more, the fan base will be gone.

@gregscards24083 ай бұрын
Irving is better than Trevor Rogers by alot.
@dmonsef3 ай бұрын
@@gregscards2408 Irvin should be better than Rogers anyways bcuz he has better pitching experience. Rogers problem is his control. He gets behind in counts too many times and either walks, gives up a hit or HR to batters. As a lefty, Cade Povich might be a better starter option after how he pitched against a very good hitting Red Sox team, his last game. Rogers could be relegated to long relief for like 2 to 3 innings, if a starter has a very short start of innings.
