You're actually using it wrong. thats how everyone bends and twists the clamp. The 2 disc that come with the tool are install and removal adapters. And should always be used at both ends. With the spacers in between. The adapters hold the spacer square on the balljoint so it will come out easier and go in easier. If the tool is pressing the balljoint crooked, its going to require much more force. This is why dozens of reviews are of bent clamps. Everyone is using it incorrectly It would really help if these tool companies would provide instructions

I know, I come to watch some one use the tool and notice they are using it wrong. But they are mechanics, and I'm just a Cabinet builder.

I have one, it's a DIY thing. I use it like once every few years. Most important is to oil the threads on the screw or it will start wearing quickly,

Interesting that the recent reviews on your amazon link for this orion ball press kit are NOT good.... seems the clamp may be heavy, but not strong enough for the task. Made from recycled bottle tops?

So far so good, already lasting significantly longer than the rental kit from the parts store. We shall see in time if it's a recycling project or not. Thanks for the comment!
