I bought my Oris Aquis Date 43 with the rubber strap 2 years ago on Jomashop for like $850 brand new! I Personally think the Oris is the best "bang for your buck" you can get I just bought a brand new Rolex Sub. and It putting the two side by side you would think the Oris is in a similar price range, incredible!

I just got my first Oris in the mail today. A Oris Aquis and I love it!! I have the 43mm black bezel and dial with the yellow second hand and yellow ring around the second marks. Im very impressed with quality and the crown pops out and whines up so smooth!!

Wearing the exact same watch right now. Also have a gray dial with tungsten bezel insert that is a beautiful watch.

I have this Oris and I love it. I do prefer a time piece with a bit of heft. When it comes to value for the money, you can't beat Oris. Other great value watches, I would recommend Certina DS Action and Davosa.

Great review. If I ever buy a luxury watch the new 39.5mm Oris Aquis with the brushed bezel and bracelet is the one I’d get. Love the updates to the new model. Such a great watch.

I prefer the chubbier, pre-2017 model, although both models look superb. I also love those screw- down crown guards. Another great presentation on your part. Most longer presentations can become redundant, but yours are always packed with a ton of important, germane information. This, in my humble opinion, makes your videos extremely interesting. 1,500 - 2,000 sounds like a good, solid, competitive price for what seems to be a very well-made timepiece. I didn't know much about Oris before this video. Thanks for the info.

I've heard from a few people now that they prefer the scale and proportions of the "1st generation" model to the new version. I'd need to spend some time with both to say one way or another for myself, but honestly that 39.5mm 2018 model looks very appealing.

Thanks for watching Robert. I’ve not ventured down the vintage watch rabbit hole. I have to many concerns about getting a properly working watch and how I’d go about servicing it should the need arise. It’s a shame there’s a lot of cool models I’m missing out on.

I have the 2017 model with the blue bezel and dial. I have big wrists so size is not an issue with me. I really like the chunky bracelet and I find it one of my more comfortable watches. It gets a lot of wrist time and definitely a keeper. The only downside for me is it’s accuracy, about 6-7 seconds a day.

Nice review. I’m seriously considering picking one up. Can’t decide between rubber or bracelet. I’m not a big bracelet guy but Have heard the bracelet is excellent. The lug design is also holding me back. I do like to change straps easily. Need to see one in person

If you get one go for the bracelet. You can probably buy a rubber strap down the road from an AD for a lot less than a bracelet if you ever decide you want one.

I saw this at an Oris dealer and I think the quality is up to the price. I can't afford it but it would be worth saving for. 43.5mm of this watch wears small on my 8.25 inch wrist. It wears similarly to the Seiko Samurai. I ended up getting a Steinhart OVM because that was the prefect balance of budget and quality for me.

Im thinking whether I should buy Oris Aquis (fully brushed) or Christopher Ward C60 Elite 1000. Oris is a bit cheaper a specially that it is available locally and I don't need to pay extra 500 Euro import tax. What is Your opinion? Is it worth to go with CW?

Yeah that’s going to bother some people. Aside from the clasp not having a quick adjustment without tools, the bracelet is top notch, I’d be happy to keep it on that.

Dave, I agree with you. I particularly like leather Nato straps. However, the Oris steel bracelet is very nice and comfortable. I also purchased the rubber strap for an occasional change of pace.

I've never once thought i'd like to change straps on either of my Aquis'. But yeah if you're a NATO guy this is not the watch for you. Picked both mine up for around $700-800, so used they're actually pretty decent deals.

How does it compare with the Ginault in term of quality?

In some ways the quality is very similar but the Oris is better in a few areas. The bezel on the Oris being ceramic is nicer. While the Ginault has the nice glidelock clasp, I think the rest of the Oris bracelet is probably a little better. It’s fairly close though overall.

Hey Big E thanks for watching and for the comment. At 300m of water resistance I would say you certainly could, and while I'm not a diver as I understand it most divers use a computer these days. That said having a backup mechanical watch couldn't hurt. Also I looked at your channel, you should do more comic videos. I've been a collector myself for almost 30 years. It would be cool to see a channel with regular comics news and reviews.

Not a bad looking watch. A little bit of a chunky look, but it works. Seems like a solid watch, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. They’d have a killer piece and probably a bigger fan base if they dropped the price $500 or so as opposed to raising it.
