Getting an unexpected room upgrade is the best. During Hurricane Ian last year we were upgraded to a 1 bed at Saratoga Springs instead of a studio. We were ridiculously excited to have a washing machine 😂 Im doing my first solo WDW trip this September, can't wait!

So interesting to hear your breakdown of costs, you’re right there definitely not a lot of transparency on that! I’m always shopping around for good Florida deals but maybe the best way to save would be travelling solo, just need to break it to the husband and kids now 😅 That was a great watch, the room looks brilliant! I’m looking forward to the rest of the series 😊

I say if you can afford to splurge then go for it, no point being cramped in economy. I'm doing a solo trip soon and I would hate to add everything together, wouldn't come out anywhere near your total but still an expensive week. My airport hotel was the shocker £250 for the night, not even the one I usually stay in it was £360, but it went up £100 in a week.

Hope you have an amazing solo trip! Wow, those are some pricy hotels. I always eye up places like Sofitel and the Hilton but can never quite justify them compared to the premier inn!

I stayed in a king Room in Destino Tower in Nov '22 during hurricane Nicole. Rm 9115. Practally the same view. Definitely nice to have interior halls during the storm. Wish I would have spent a bit more time exploring the tower and resort

Hope you have a great trip! I’m not sure what number the level is, but it’s the exact same as arrivals. As soon as you pass through immigration, you’ll see doors to the outside in front of you and then the pickup is to the left outside (you’ll see the location specifically when you’re ordering the Uber in the app).

Thank you! I rang the UK number, I’m pretty sure they can do the request. Or I’ve heard that you can do it through live chat in my Disney experience too, so that might be worth a try to save you an hour on hold on the phone 🙂

Loved the video, which lounge did you use before your flight and was it included because you flew business class or did you have to pay an additional fee. Also how much was your fare and did you book in a sale, trying to gage just how much money you actually save in the sale. Thanks😊

It was the BA lounge and it was included because I flew business class. You can either fly business class, or fly enough to get silver frequent flyer status with them to get in. I did do a paid lounge in September, Aspire South, but didn’t think it was worth the money due to poor food and drinks and a fly infestation in the toilets 😬 My fare was £2350 return and I booked it in the January/new year sale. Hope this helps with the planning!

Hi Laura, Hopefully you get to do it! The main pros are: Do what you want when you want Set your own pace Single rider lines Eat whatever you fancy Much more flexible than going with someone Once you’ve been confident enough to do one solo trip, and enjoyed it, it can open up a whole new world of travel options to you! Easier to get chatting to new people I probably missed some pros there but they were off the top of my head 😁 Cons You might be lonely if you’re not used to your own company. If this happens, there are some great solo traveler groups on Facebook where you can easily find a park buddy for the day. Also, people are so friendly and kind in the park, I’ve found. And in awe of you going alone! It’s more expensive, no really getting around this one. If something goes wrong, it can be stressful, especially with no one to share the burden and help out. In 2019 I broke a tooth at Epcot on a solo trip and had a bit of a meltdown, but eventually pulled myself together and I’m proud I sorted it all out. Hope this helps! Is there anything specific you’re scared or worried about that I didn’t mention?

@@lauraclarke05Wow, 4 weeks! I’m so jealous! With the dining, try and practice in the UK… once you realise no one else cares that you’re there alone, it soon gets easier! Also, my top tip is bar seating… you can get a bar seat at most restaurants, they serve the same food, but it’s where us solos tend to hang… and there’s usually an odd seat just waiting for you, even when the restaurant is fully booked and looks packed. I did bar seating alone at nomad lounge and dahlia lounge at disney this trip, both quite hidden gems with fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere 😊 bar seating at toothsome and Cowfish at universal city walk is great too!

Hi Laura , Have done solo trips many times and the best pro i can tell is you do what you want when you want . Went a few times with parents and sister's family and always had to wait on sister and husbang to get and get ready after they sat at poolside till 2 or 3 and by the time they were ready it could be 11 or 12 . I really can't think of a con as i really love doing my own thing , usually up about five , while the coffee is brewing do my sh1t , shower and shave . Then down to starbuck's for my venti cappuccino and frappacino . Never felt embarrassed going to eat at any place , rides you can use the single lane . I'am a 62 young guy who loves Disney and of course the shopping so my best advice is go and enjoy

Fully with you on the “can’t fly economy” - it’s just not for me anymore. Premium is ideal for me though, decent enough price and enough space and luxury touches.

Definitely. On long haul the difference to me is between arriving cranky, achy and stressed or relaxed and ready to begin the holiday/get back to normal life!

Hi Rach, my previous comment was made before your post vlog. You are obviously a really clever cookie, and don't have to justify how you can offord your holiday. You must work really long hours and have little time for socialising (I know from personal experience as director of a construction company). Please for your own mental health take time for yourself and find that special person. I just don't want you to find yourself being lonely as you are such a bubble person. Tell me to mind my own business, I just concerned. Take care of yourself.
