I wish all the horses were like Ormonde. He gives the tourists a warning nudge to get back or if he’s really annoyed a bit of a nip. I wonder if the guards had a German Shepherd on a lead instead of being mounted on a horse, the annoying tourists would go up and try to pat them of try to take hold ofthe lead. Die Ohren sind zwar nach hinten gedreht, aber er hat keinen "schlangenkopf" wenn ein Pferd wirklich sauer ist, sind die Ohren oft fest nach hinten an den Hals angepresst, was man dann "schlangenkopf" nennt. Bei ormondo sind die Ohren aber locker nach hinten gedreht. Ich würde ormondo eher als schelmisches Pferd bezeichnen, das die Leute gerne neckt.

HA! I never thought of that...he is a bad arse......My salty old cowboy daddy wouldn't have stood for that for a minute! He bought a stallion that was a biter...and we all wore large sharp roofing nails in our upper sleeves with the point sticking out....after several days of sticking his nose on that very sharp nail, the horse was done with biting! Of course, when we saw him coming in to bite we swung our shoulders in his direction...WHAAMO! Big PAIN right in the very tender nose!!

And, all their horses out of one particular sire were mean and could not be trusted. A the rest of our horses were gentle, dependable. We had the Biter for 2 years and my dad sold him. Made money off of him because his bloodline was a famous racing bloodline.
