I found your Christmas decorating videos last year and you inspired me to change up decorating for 2012. This year I used sea foam green, gold and silver. Because I am a vintage/country girl at heart, I used burlap for garland and stockings. The colors are beautiful and soothing. My son missed the traditional reds and greens so he put up a little tree in his room using his favorite ornaments. Mom's happy, Dad's happy since Mom's happy, and now my son is happy. Have a blessed Christmas!

All of your videos are so helpful. I have experience working for an interior designer and it's always fun to see how people decorate for the holidays. Normally, I do a more traditional tree but this year I'm doing silver and white. Exciting stuff :)

Those rotating baubles are amazing! This is probably my 3rd or 4th time watching this video/this series - you get me into the spirit of christmas every year. Today I bought my new tree for my bedroom (I'm only 18 so I still live at home, but I decorate my bedroom bc I love christmas). I got this really good/cheap white christmas tree that's about 1.5 metres high - the branches are thick and the wire in them makes it very easy to manipulate it's shape - it was only $15! It was an absolute steal. I live in Australia so christmas is a warm event here, but I love the idea of creating a winter wonderland cosy theme. My bedroom is pink/black/silver glamour so I'm decorating my room with the theme of pink and silver (maybe black, I'm not sure if that's too far) - on the white tree, it's going to look amazing. I know it's only November 9th, but I've already started to put together my decorations ... whoops!

I discovered your design site! What an early gift for me! To respond to your request for what I did to decorate for 2012--I have a BLACK Christmas tree decorated with leopard and gold. The 'pop' color is a deep burgandy. I found some fabulous feathers to add dimension as well. I added one set of twinkling lights deep inside the tree per your suggestion and used many of your other inspirational ideas and tips. Now, I am dreaming of you to come design my home! Thank you for sharing.

Me and my husband coming from Buddhist backgrounds have never had Christmas trees at our homes before. But this year we are blessed to have our one and a half year old son around and so a very very good reason to have our 1st Christmas tree at home. We purchased a 6ft green tree and I'm thinking of decorating it after the week end as we are hoping to do a bit of shopping in the week end.

We live in a Victorian home. This year we have a "skinny" tree (know this now thanks to your video) and we are decorating in reds (main) and gold (accent) and then all our very special ornaments. This weekend we are going to decorate our staircase thanks to your other videos. Can't thank you enough - I had no idea that with a few more hours of work, our house could look so fantastic and festive. We use your tips and incorporate them into our scheme (just as you suggested). Thank you!

Beautiful tree. Last year I did a Tiffany Blue, Silver and White theme. This year I love the bright red, apple green, of course lots of sparkle and glitter. I too do a family tree with all of their homemade ornaments , princess, sports and whatever they picked out over the years. They get to pick an ornament each year. I too rearrange after bedtime as my tree is divided in three sections. Cartoon and Dog theme on the top 1/3(my 15 yo), Princess and fairies in the front and down the bottom (8 yo daughter) sports themed all around the sides(10 yo son). It is funny how all of their stuff end up where they can reach.

You are too funny and I love, love, love watching these videos that I just discovered 3 days ago,, while looking for ideas to decorate my house for Christmas. I feel overwhelmed and my energy levels are low but when I see/hear your stamina, I can't help but get energy from somewhere (don't know where). I'm sure you know you are a natural teacher. I've seen videos explaining something as simple as making a bow but the details you add to your explanations is what makes the difference. Now, for the first time, I know how to make my bows. Thank you! Love your sense of humor.
