I absolutely adored this campaign, its got so much personality I can't help but wish we got more campaigns in a similar spirit. Also, the character dialogue slaps.

They show you the three ‘cities’ for the specific side quest as well as the close Ionian bases. The rest are for you to find. Also screaming at the video for you to attack the blue Forts to take the city - why didn’t you? 🤣🤣

@@OrnLu_AoE You can also take blue's city without dealing with forts, Ornlu or rather, your potential allies can take the city I should say, but at least they'll turn into a friendly faction. If you pay 1000 gold to Oligarch, when you destroy the wonder, they'll take over the city. That's what I did at least.

From Gythium on the eastern shore of the Peloponnese, Lysander set out with 30 triremes. He sailed to Rhodes, where he collected some more ships, and made his way to Cos, Miletus, Chios, gathering ships, until he finally arrived at Ephesus, which he turned into the Peloponnesian League's main naval base for the Aegean.

Really fun scenario, raiding and pillaging to build a fleet to challenge the Athenian navy. And the next scenario will be the last one so I'm very excited for that one and the conclusion to this long campaign.

And this, people, is how Sparta won the Peloponnesian War: Accepting Persian gold for their ships, selling out the Ionian Greeks along the way while the dismantling the Athenian fleet that had been the bulwark allowing said Ionian Greeks to get out of the Achemenid Empire in the first place (they traded for the Athenian Empire of the Delos League yes, but they still seem to have preferred the Athenians). And then pretty much accepting to become the Persians' enforcer in Greece afterwards. Not that they had much success in that domain (more for the last part).

Spartans are wildly glorified for some odd reason. A real shame the grand campaign ended just before the Macedonians showed up and said "join us or die" and the Spartans replied with "Yes, Daddy"

@jonathanking8800 I would have contented myself with Thebs kicking their ass at Leuctres, would be within a reasonable scope of this DLC, but welp, with the tease at the end of the campaign... We may yet see Sparta makes their empry boast before Philipes II comes around and they get crawling.

@@hardric6284 At least Sparta is better then those pathetic Athens. Sparta only lost to Thebes because Persia and most of Greece worked together because they was taking everything over. For macedon Sparta wasn't taken over Alexander respected Sparta for their king told his man to go back home and on his knees slaughtered many man before we was killed by a javelin and Alexander was so impressed he just got Sparta to join the league and not attack Sparta. For Philip 2 he said if I invade and all that Sparta said IF, they didn't give up. The Spartans treated their allies more as equals where Athens treated their allies as servants to get stuff from

@@ookamigaming1093 Spartans did not have a professional army lol. Macedon showed up with a professional army and Cavalry. Spartans were known among the ancient Greek world as child molesters and they were not shy about their man-boy love affairs. The fantasy world is one in which the Spartans were some Amazing warrior nation. No historian would ever say they were even superior among the Greek city-states.

even with the polemarch speed buff i wasnt fast enough to field more then 84 ships. Maybe i lost too many units? maybe the merecenaries are more cost efficient? probably u can win it even with less ships since the athenian fleet is so scaterred, u notice their champ alkibiades wasnt there
@OrnLu_AoE3 күн бұрын
When I replayed it for my review of the DLC, I was able to get 150 ships, which is I think the max. I used the hp regen because keeping your units alive is the most important thing. Other than that, it's just finding efficient routes through the map

Bit of a shame they didn't put Alcibiades into this Campaign as the final Antagonist for Sparta after Cleon died. He could have been a fun enemy to fight.
@gebhard1284 күн бұрын
alkibiades was not involved in any naval battle at this time. He blocked the spartan fleet in the port and just left his own navy under a subcommander with the order to not take a fight in his absence when the spartans saw theyre chance. The Athenian commander in his arrogance ignored the order, lost the fleet and Alkibiades got banned from athens for the 2nd time. Athenians had the habbit of banning or murdering theyre best military leaders. Not the greatest idea

Very overwhelming map. So many spots to raid, yet you cant divide your forces too thinly otherwise you get a lot of casulaties while raiding. You cant just use one main army because theyre too slow for the whole map. The most amount of ships I reached was 126 after so many retries.
@ucbuianh72934 күн бұрын
I didn't reach 120+. What is the special effect ship?
Like I replied to another comment, on my replay of this mission I got 150 ships, which is I think the max. Just took some efficient route-finding. Essentially I split everyone into two groups until I got to the southern portion of the map, where I reunited them because they enemies get stronger over time
