Esther was played by an actual child at the time of the film being filmed the actress is Isabelle Fuhrman i love her acting in this movie, they used special techniques to de-age Isabelle Fuhrman in the prequel movie Orphan: First Kill, Isabelle Fuhrman is 27 years old right now i think Isabelle was 9 or 10 years old in Orphan 2009

the prequel/sequel is pretty good as well. I think you might like that one even more actually. It was released to streaming but did have a limited theater release and did decent in terms of box office, a 3rd one has been announced recently.

I saw this movie in theaters. There was only me and 2 old ladies I didn't know. And I was blown away. The very next day I went to the Suncoast video in the mall and pre ordered the Blu ray. I paid $40.00 for it but I didn't care

I LOVE this movie for the twist especially when we feel we've seen everything and what new things can possibly come out of movies. When the truth was revealed and she kept wiping her make up off my jaw was just dropping further and further in disbelief. I was completely fooled! This film was one of the rare times when a trailer says "You won't see it coming" and they were RIGHT! Cause usually when they say something like that I figure it out quickly. NOPE, not this one. =) Pleasantly surprised when I first saw this. Perfect casting too! OH! Watch the sequel! The twist in there is great too! =D
