The Vervet Forest is a wildlife rehab series focused on Vervet Monkeys at the Vervet Monkey Foundation . The series showcases the process of taking orphaned and injured vervet monkeys through a foster mother program which helps these rescued orphan baby monkeys to be adopted by foster mother monkeys. What a great human, the woman who helps animals recover. I'm surprised you don't get more 'former pets', these are so cute, and seemingly in abundance, I'm not sure what stops people from 'adopting' them. How did you learn that soy milk was a good fit for vervets?

We do receive quite a few ex-pets but they usually come in later in the year, or even when they are much older (a few years). Soy milk came from various studies and trial and error as well as basic science regarding effects of cow dairy on primates.

There are new episodes every week, the series will follow the babies until they are out in the troops with their moms. Anyone can volunteer, age does not matter, if you can walk around and carry a water can then you will be good to go. 😊

I seen the wire cage that I understand but they are not weaned when the foster mom takes them do they come back to nurse or what.

Yes they are taught to climb off the foster mom and go get milk from a specially designed feeding cage. they fed milk for a year
