The Orphan films are great. It won't win any Oscars but they are both enjoyable. That being said, in both films, Isabelle Fuhrman is a damn good actress. She was great when she was literally a kid, and just as good in her 20's. I really believe if she were in some highly critically acclaimed films, she would have a well deserved bigger career.

I loved this movie. The mom was funny as hell. Especially the rat scene and her facial expression as it went down the drain .I loved this mom better than the first one in the original. I am not saying she wasn’t a good actress,,,she just did not connect with me like this mom did. I wish they did not kill her off in this movie because I would love to see her and Esther go at it again in a sequel. It was fun watching those two taking jabs at each other lmfao. The cast should be proud of their performances. The son was good too. The dad was the only one I thought was out of place. I don’t think he fit the role very well. Everyone else was top notch. One more funny thing, when the mom walked in the kitchen, she had the funniest look on her face…like she was disgusted with Esther trying to ingratiate herself with the dad by making breakfast lol. I loved the mom in this movie. She made it super exciting.

This movie was actually very good, the only thing that drives me crazy was the plane scene. If the mother knew Esther was dead, then why would she bother bringing up memories with this girl when she knew nobody else was watching, AND why was she surprised when Lina didn’t know the grandmother was dead?? It would have made more sense if she had gotten someone else to get rid of Esther’s body without actually being sure she was dead, this way there would have been a possibility that she was alive, that the person just left her somewhere instead of properly disposing of the body, that she woke up hours later and couldn’t remember who she was, and just happened to get picked up by a Russian family who saw a golden opportunity to take a child that couldn’t remember they weren’t her parents. But no. Instead it makes 100% clear that the mother AND brother knew she was dead, and that she dumped her body into an old shaft herself. There was no way in the world Lina could have been Esther. So it makes most of the mother’s interaction with her before the detective scene a huge plot hole.

Thats what I think & a prequel to this prequel as in orphan first kill they explain the family she stayed with before the asylum was killed but not how and they also state esther had only ever been a grifter before that robbing people not killing. So we don't know she killed them, she also cares about animals and them suffering in both films so wasnt straight up psychopath but picks up traits as she goes on. They defo could've got 2 more good films out of this if they'd only made this years ago. As I fear furhman is getting too old for tge role now but couldn't have anyone replace her as esther
