Otters are in my top five of cutest animals. Their hands; the way they eat; their adorable vocalizations; their playful nature, I’m smitten by otters.

Funnnnnn fact: Otters are close relatives to wolverines, honey badgers, skunks, or mustelids. They carry those same traits of aggressiveness on as well. I mean, you can look it up, otters are some of the most vicious, bloodthirsty, and dangerous animals out there. One of the, isn’t strong, but when they are in a gang they are brutal.

Susie, I watch channels whereby people from Japan own Otters as pets. The Otters are so smart, curious and funny. These channels are: Aty, Loutre and Kotsumet. It's legal in Japan to have them for pets. The people who have them take excellent care of them. They have to have pools at their homes for the Otters to swim in. For Aty channel, human dad Otterman takes his 2 Otters to different streams to swim in. Let me know if you've ever watched those Otter channels. I love it!

@@WhyKZbinWhy it surely is not up to me that people in Japan are allowed to have Otters as pets. When they are captive bred, they become accustomed to people. For the channels I watched, the Otters are well cared for and the Otters appear happy. They are also very affectionate to their human owners. On this channel, the baby Otter followed the children. The humans who rescued it probably saved its life. It was released back to the wild when it was old enough to survive. I live in the USA. I never heard that it is legal to own Otters here. I never knew anyone personally had an Otter for a pet.
@WhyYoutubeWhy

@@dianebannister4591 Yes it is up to you if you subscribe and visit their channel because you encourage that behaviour and unknowgly make these people money. You have a choice so it is definetely up to you. Yes released back into the wild, but not in Japan. They do that with other types of animals too, owls, sloths, tarsiers,... These animals are not pets!

Long story in brief: I rescued a Dusky Wing Swallow and, after hand-rearing for two weeks, I took him to the wildlife park where they had ... another Dusky Wing Swallow! Mine flew out of my hand - it was the first time, after having been given ample opportunity - straight up to the other one, and they were really excited to find each other. Hugely soul-enriching.

That's so cool about their behavior change, as babies they are completely dependent on their fosters and then all of a sudden one day a switch flips on and their natural instincts for surviving kick in and they're completely independent creatures. Amazing he just needed some help to get there but if it wasn't for those children and the fosters he probably wouldn't have survived one single night on his own

Oh, what an absolute joy that must have been. I would give a lot to have that privilege, to be a part of their world if only for a day. They are such special creatures. Bless you for taking such good care of him.
