Susie, I watch channels whereby people from Japan own Otters as pets. The Otters are so smart, curious and funny. These channels are: Aty, Loutre and Kotsumet. It's legal in Japan to have them for pets. The people who have them take excellent care of them. They have to have pools at their homes for the Otters to swim in. For Aty channel, human dad Otterman takes his 2 Otters to different streams to swim in. Let me know if you've ever watched those Otter channels. I love it!

@@WhyKZbinWhy it surely is not up to me that people in Japan are allowed to have Otters as pets. When they are captive bred, they become accustomed to people. For the channels I watched, the Otters are well cared for and the Otters appear happy. They are also very affectionate to their human owners. On this channel, the baby Otter followed the children. The humans who rescued it probably saved its life. It was released back to the wild when it was old enough to survive. I live in the USA. I never heard that it is legal to own Otters here. I never knew anyone personally had an Otter for a pet.
