Lovely song that was, loved the music, the lyrics and the message of peace it sends. It has come to my attention, and I think you'll find this interesting Jim, That the Arabic lines they sing starting at 6:21 to 7:21 are actually direct quotes from a Quranic verse. It is not the whole verse however. What they chose translates to """"Allah is the light of heavens and earth, his light is like a blessed niche that needs no fire to set ablaze. Allah guides to his light those who find him in their hearts, and sets forth parables for mankind, Allah is cognizant of all"""" Coming from the full verse: "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is all Knowing, All cognizant " {An-Nur, 35} Mind the different wordings, same translation. A verse showing imagery of utmost beauty. However, on a side note, and I mean nothing of this, In Islam, it is actually sacrilegious to sing the Quran or its verses. Other than that lovely work as usual, and another usual thing is my recommendation for you to listen to Pain of Salvation's King of Loss. Cheers, and have a good day.

I may have commented this on one of your videos previously but I felt like I should again. I really appreciate that you listen to the whole thing and then reflect, you don't pause it a dozen times. I respect that, so thanks for doing it! A lot of KZbin reaction channels pause every 20 seconds or so and it gets rather irritating eventually! Also check out Myrath if you haven't already :)

Thank you for that! If you want to check out more of their music I suggest listening to "Birth of the three" from the album Mabool. It's a concept album so it's a better listen at it's entirety, but this first track can give you a good glimpse.

There's this good band called Myrath, a tunisian progressive metal band with oriental influences too, much less epic than say this song, except in their old albums, but memorable riffs. I'll let you choose a song, I don't want to choose haha

This album is amazing. Their best along with Mabool, but their entire discography is brilliant (aside from their somewhat underwhelming last album, their guitarist left the band recently and he was definitely one of the key members). And your interpretation of their message is correct. They've collaborated with Palestinian artists and incorporate both Jewish and Arab traditional music for a reason. I recommend the track Halo Dies (The Wrath of God).

This is one of those groups where I REALLY enjoy about half of the songs I've heard from them, but the other half don't hold my interest enough to finish the song. I do very much enjoy their approach and creativity overall however. If you get a chance, I would recommend you check out a group called 'Hypno5e', they are also quite complex in their arrangements and weave various genres into their projects. Have a great weekend, Jim!

First discovered Orphaned Land some two and a half years ago, through their song "All Is One", which is almost Nightwish-esque, and remember making a mental note to check them out some more later. Since then that one song's been sitting in one of my playlists and haven't really paid them much attention unfortunately. I do like what I hear, though - so maybe it's time to actually go check them out some more! Remind me somewhat of the already mentioned Tunisian band Myrath who also have these Middle Eastern influences. Still looking forward to your reaction to Art of Illusion - "Distance" aswell! ;) kzbin.info/www/bejne/apOokKWvptVmf8k

A very nice Band :) i know a lot of them and also a few collaborations. Sooo Jim. There Are 2 Songs that i really need to see here ;) its my favorite Song in a Long time: "Cellar Darling" With "Insomnia". Basically Take 25% Within temptation, 25% Tool, 10% Riverside and put 15% Flute and 15% elecrtical distroted Hurdi gurdi in that and you have that song :D its absolutly mind blowing for me. Second Song. As you featured Ayreon you should have some Avantasia on here. Sooo i recommend aswell " Avantasia" with "The Scarecrow". Jorn Lande is in there and he is basically the best Hard Rock vocalist in the Style of Dio on the planet. Pls consider Both of them. Cellar Darling > Avantasia tho for me :D

huge fan of the band, not super into this track though, maybe an 8-8.5 out of 10? (sounds high but most of these guys' music is in the mid to high 9 range outside of their all is one album.) I will say though 8:52 in this video is definitely a highlight of the album. Their 2018 album has a lot of choir/layered vox stuff like that. I think one of the reasons this album never truly grabbed me as much as it does for others was steven wilson's production, his work either works godly well or just ok depending on the band and i feel his style left the music a little too thin for me, i prefer a fuller/less precise sound with these guys. Still some incredible work on it though, its mainly just the middle of the album that failed to impact me too much. Their album Mabool, on the other hand, is one of my top 10 albums of all time and their 2018 album is my album of the year, easily. If you want to try another song by these guys, my favorite songs of theirs are the last 4 songs off Mabool (its one constant piece of music), Halo Dies, From Broken Vessels, The Cave and Take My Hand. All of those are incredible. Cheers :)

Great lyrics and message but not so much metal. I couldn't get too much in this band. Not many bands get to make proper metal with this style so called oriental. However for this matter is mandatory you also check prog metal Tunisian band Myrath with their songs : Tales of the sand, Silence cry etc, death band Melechesh with their mistique epic Multiple truths and why not thrash metal band Artillery with a classy but less known Khomeniac (hints to Iran's Khomeini).
