You bring back memories of my Italian grandma at Christmas time Pasquale.. She always brought a big box of homemade cookies I wish I could remember what they were called. Some of these you made, some pasta dough strips like a nest shape fried and covered in honey with little candy balls, among others. Christmas morning I would wake up to the smell of pizza frites frying ( we called them cows ears) thanks for the walk down memory lane

Fabulous You sound just like my grandpapa Mario. He came to America at 27 yrs old. He was a plumber in Chicago for one of AL Capone's captains. He moved my the family to Kansas City to work his farm of chickens and goats. But, he left right after ww2 for California. Being Sicilian back then wasn't so good. Modesto was where we buried him in 1981 at the ripe age of 92. He taught me to garden, to grow and harvest the grapes, respect the earth and always be thankful for the gifts God gives us everyday. A co-worker gave me the recipe for ricotta cookies something like 25 years ago. My mother always made Struffoli and Biscotti for Christmas. She loved these when I made them for her. It's been a while since I made them, need to do it again this year.
