Thanks, Dale. I was hoping you would review the Orthodox Lectionary Bible and the Anglican Office Book when they were finally available. When you stopped reviewing books, I lost hope that you would review those books. So, what a pleasant surprise to find a review of the Orthodox Lectionary Bible. Next month, I plan to purchase this book, I always enjoined your book reviews. This one is not exception!

I'm still undecided about the AOB. It always seems odd to take Cranmer's Readers Digest Breviary and decorate it. Better choose between the BCP or the Breviary in itself.

@@dalecaldwell That's a point I never considered. I still have both the Anglican Breviary and the BCP 1928 with KJV and Apocrypha, as well as the Anglican Missal. But, if I go back to using the BCP, I always want to use the Office for Ash Wednesday for Compline. Do you see that as reasonable? Psalm 50 (51) has always been a personal favorite of mine.

@AmericanShia786 I don't think that biblipphilia is entirely reasonable. I just ordered another book today, and one is coming tomorrow to replace one that I sold. So, I am not the person to ask about reasonableness. I pray 'compline' these days from the Holy Transfiguration Monastery Book of Hours' Midnight Service . So of course Psalm 50 is there. I don't know whether it is worth making a video about it, since it's certainly not a new book, but perhaps I will anyway, since it's new to me.

I am actually working on a video on the Anthologion vs. the Breviary. The biggest difference between East and West liturgically, in my opinion, is that the Eastern Office is primarily an arrangement of hymns for public worship, in which the psalms are used (or, actually, omitted in many parishes for Orthros and Vespers), while the Western Office is primarily an arrangement of psalms for worship, in which hymns are used. For a lot of people, a book like this is just what they need to worship privately. Thanks for the video! I have been contemplating buying this book. Maybe for my feast day next year.

I have been thinking about those differences, and I'm rereading Bob Taft's East and West book. Western Matins is rather different from the eastern night offices.

They are making a traditional version of the Anthologion as folks didn't care for the modern English. Does this have modern English or traditional? Thanks.

Dale, not to be the grim reaper or anything, but, since you mentioned your death, have you thought of a way to let your viewers know that you've passed away when the time comes? I'd hate to think we'd simply hear nothing ever again only to unofficially comfortable that something have happened. Maybe a pre-recorded farewell video someone can post with your sign in info in your last will and testament or something 🤷🏻‍♂️

When I was scheduled for a surgery last year, I contemplated filming a "If you happen to see this" video, and schedule it for (say) two weeks in the future, so that in the unlikely event of my death, the video would go out automatically as scheduled. And, of course, assuming I survived, I could just regularly reschedule the thing for another future date, and repeat. A videographic kill switch of sorts. Perhaps I should still do that.
