I attend a Serbian orthodox church we are still on the old Calendar but the Greek church up the street is new Calendar. When covid hit you saw their fruits and it was a lil spoiled..im surpised they did not come to liturgy in bubbles.. They called us Anti Maskers.. Economia exists, but not for heresy or capitulation. “Fighting from within” is not Orthodox. Separation from heresy is. See the examples of St. Athanasius the Great, St. Maximus the Confessor, St. Mark of Ephesus & St. Gregory Palamas, New Martyr St. Tikhon Patriarch of Moscow, St. John of SF, St. Philaret of NY… True confession and spiritual unity among Orthodox would be incredible. The rejoicing on earth would be amazing, but the rejoicing in heaven would be inexpressible. Forgive me. Panagia save our Geronda.

I love the GOC there no church near me, I do not know what to do. I'm now seeking to live in the wilderness away from everyone. the new calendars are supermarket. I called a few and they told there will be heretics at our church because it's a hospital...what!!! sure I love the GOC there no church near me, there no clergy available. GOARCH is in communion with the OCA and (indirectly) with ROCOR. It wouldn’t make any difference. Find a GOC church. Almost all of them follow the Greek tradition, and you won’t be risking salvation there.

Brother stay away from those jurisdictions. Oca and GOARCH are very liberal and ecumenist. There is a good chance the oca parish near you used multiple spoons during the pandemic. Rocor betrayed St. John by going under the MP before certain prerequisites were met. What state are you in? We can recommend parishes near you who are not betraying Christ.

The cited criteria was not authored by St. John, it was from "Commentary on the Contemporary State of Church Life" by Rassaphor-monk Vsevolod (1996), which confusingly was placed as an additional section within St. John's "A Short History", leading some to mistakenly believe it was authored by our beloved St. John.

Patriarch of Constantinople does not represent the Orthodox Church, and there is not a Sister Church with the Latins. It's not even a left and right "Lung" of Christ's Church. First Protestants who left the Church were the Latins and they started their own Church.

According to the Holy Metropolitan Philaret of New York, the GOC is canonical because the new-calendarists are the schismatics.

Ultimately, God is the judge, but we do not consider the New-calendarist innovationists the canonical church. She had a link to Elder Joseph the Hesychast, and she reverenced St. Hieronymos of Aegina greatly. She was a righteous person, but we couldn't agree with her hierarchy. That's partially the point of the title; we didn't change.

I believe the difference is that we Christian Orthodox believe that the Lord has two natures, not one, Theanthropos (Θεάνθρωπος) which in Greek means God and Man combined in one word, Godman. He is BOTH at the same time, a Perfect God and a Perfect Man, 2 in 1! May He have mercy on us all ☦️ Also we don't call the Theotokos St. Mary but Panagia which means All Holy or Most Holy ☦️ May our Lady Theotokos intercede for us all ☦️

It’s a Geez language , it’s really difficult to find an exact interpretation in English but a bit similar would be for eg a husband and a wife become one in the eyes of GOD, so as to say OUR ALLMIGHTY LORD JESUS CHRIST became man , it’s not to say mixed but to say oneness. The Ethiopian orthodox Christian’s are also Orthodox, but I belive you are right there is a bit of a difference in what we believe with regards to Our ALLMIGHTY SON OF THE FATHER , OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, as I have described it below with the vey little knowledge that I have . But with concerns to OUR MOST HOLY MOTHER BLESSED VIRIGIN PURE MARY , it’s I believe the same, actually in Ethiopia as it was where she fled too next to Egypt during the time of Herodos slaughter. We have a lot of monasteries in each of the place she spent her time at together with blessed ELDER Joseph and blessed mother Selome and our LORD JESUS CHRIST, infact this season starting from last week until the coming 40 days is a fasting season ( but only self willingly) to remember the 3 and half years of fled. And every Saturday midnight till the morning is a praise night for the next 6 weeks remembering each of her pain and suffering she endured. She higher than all angels, higher to any creation. It’s said that Ethiopia was given to her by OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST during that time , as she loved the people and their hospitality at that time. So we have a really higher place for OUR BLESSED MOTHER MARY, and call her MOST HOLY OF HOLYS AND PURE OF PUREST BLESSED VIRGIN ( body soul and taught) MARY. Sorry if I made it long but hope I tried to describe it correctly . THANKYOU VERY MUCH for your answer and may OUR LOVING GOD BRING US ALL TO HIM.
