When I was a child my dentist wanted to extract the first premolars. I said no. He convinced my parents. I explained that if he tried I would bite off his fingers. And that was the end of that. I was young, small and knew my haw was still growing. I wanted to give it time. It was the right decision.

Very nice! I almost had 4k worth of work done last year, but went to get a second opinion. The second orthodontist told me there's nothing wrong with me and none of my teeth should be extracted- listening to him was one of the best decisions I ever made!

Likely never, like most things, orthodontics is an industry, it makes money, they definitely dont want orthotropics to become popular, because of the financial impact it would have. So I think they would likely never stop being ridiculed by the orthodontics industry

I never thought I would be interesting in reading orthodontic reports. I need to put my hands on both Edward Angle and Charles Tweed papers because I want to understand how we get to this point of overprescribing braces and extracting teeth.

I believe braises are never necessary for Better straighten Teeth. But that’s just my opinion, I don’t know much about braises anyways. Better to do mewing.

Braces definitely have their place but I would definitely say they are overprescribed.

Essential viewing for ALL orthodontists, especially those married to extraction orthodontics. The extraction retraction way of orthodontics was based on a dodgy work around from a bunch of not properly treated patients (the ones from Edward Angle that relapsed didn't address the MYOFUNCTIONAL/soft tissue aspect). So the very man who created the extraction system everyone does these days had a seemingly change of heart before his death... I would think he had more of a change of heart before he died but didn't want to admit that his whole life's work was wrong. WHY DO DENTISTS AND ORTHODONTISTS KEEP UNNECESSARILY EXTRACTING TEETH?????

Hello Dr Mew I am 13 almost 14 I have a receded chin and I always have been a mouth breather but in the past 6 months I saw your videos and started mewing and I got a very defined jawline and forward face and it was really helpful and amazing to see the changes I really appreciate your work, but my chin barely or didn’t change it is still receded. Will my chin ever become normal and if yes how long will it take?

Muscles can change fast but bone is slow. Try to keep good posture, lips together, teeth together, tongue on the roof of your mouth. It will move slowly but surely.

I've been chewing only on my left side of the cheek for almost 4-5 years now because Im scared to get my molar tooth on the right side removed, does this contribue to my asymmetrical face/weak muscles on my right side of the face? And will it help me if I start mewing? someone please reply :( Also, my upper and lower teeth arent aligned, can mewing help my lower jaw move forward?

Is Controlled Arch together with mewing as good as Bionator or Biobloc
@MegaHux
@MegaHux 4 жыл бұрын
Biobloc is not a functional appliance - it is used in orthotropics, which sees malocclusion as a postural deformity that comes about because of bad habits. Biobloc stage one widens the upper dental arch and encourages forward growth. The width gained makes good oral posture easier to achieve and the stage 3 makes that oral posture subconscious - changing habits for life. This is why orthotropics patients do not suffer from relapse, while retention is always required in all other forms if orthodontics.
