Ongoing, I need to cut a lot of 4.1 mm corrugated cardboard for custom-made optimally-sized shipping boxes for my eBay business. The way I currently do it, there's a sharp rapidly-moving Xacto-style knife passing by, less than an inch away from my fingers many times a day, as a result. I'm wary. So I'm looking forward to trying this laser instead, for that. I've learned a lot from this, and your related relevant videos. Thank you so much for your detail-oriented, broad-coverage benevolent, creative work. I learned a lot, and I also feel less intimidated.

What type of mat do you have that sitting on? Is it heat resistant?

Looks like a cutting mat for paper/cardboard/matboard to me. Cut resistant but certainly not heat resistant. I'd guess he has it there in the video because a little reference for scale is nice and all.

Finally mine just arrived, it is the short adjustable lens 20 watt. what does it say on the top of the laser or the number on the side that is engraved or looks that it is. I am trying to verify that mine is indeed the 20. Ok enough typing i got me a laser to build.

You should have large driver for the 20 watt version
@bobbyboy19624 жыл бұрын
@@DIY3DTECHcom the driver is the top circuit board or the body. I cant relate it to a 15 as I dont have one. I noticed in your video that the number on the top on one of the components says 20 and the engraved number on the side has 20 in it. Can you compare those numbers for me. Your videos are a huge bonus for me.

I'm curious as to if the lens on this can be swapped out and how different that is compared to the older focus ring version. Have you sorted that out? If so might be a good video to touch upon a how to. As usual, thanks for the great video and keep them coming. Edit - It looks like there is a slot on each side of the collar that holds the lens in place. Perhaps using those slots the collar can be unscrewed and removed. Then the collar barrel/lens can be removed.
@robertfielder83984 жыл бұрын
It looks like yours is similar to mine, including the new port and rearrange buttons. At least your buttons are labelled - there is nothing on mine. Plus, the upper button on mine turns the unit off instead of doing a reset, so I assume mine is a slightly older version of the new version (if that makes sense!).

Half of this video is simply saying "assemble this" but you never show the actual assembly - just cut away and come back and its done. This would be far more valuable if the actual assembly was shown. As done it is not really much more help than the printed instructions that also do not show any detail.
