The matchmaker enforces a 50% win rate with pretty ridiculous accuracy. I tried switching cards out between matches to anticipate a counter deck. Doesn’t work though it seems the matchmaker hard counters that strat lol.

This is the best Amalia deck I've tried. I'm always trying to perfect Amalia in Standard. In Standard Brawl she is my best deck. This deck seems to struggle a little for me. Could just be me; need a bit more testing and practice. Love your Simic Cookies deck too btw. I destroy in standard with a very slightly altered version of that deck.

Regarding the land discussion around 23:00 - I could see the check lands coming back. Wouldn't be great but WotC could see as a somewhat replacement for the slow lands.

Pathways would help Convoke even more, I guess. That's 4 more great lands to secure the perfect mana T1/2. The deck only loses Epicure (replacements could be in Bloomburrow or you run 1 mana artifact creatures instead).

In defense of the snarls, they function very similar to fast lands in that they're most likely coming into play untapped early in the game. Also, depending on your hand later in the game, they can come into play untapped even then, whereas fast lands can't. In other words, Snarl: 1, Fast land: 0.

the SUPER SAD thing is that start of new year "day of judgement" the 4 mana sweeper comes into standard and not in a normal set but the new BASIC set that stays AT LEAST 5 years standard legal ... basicly wrath of god 4 mana sweeper in standard forever ... whoever came up with this is the biggest idiot in wizards :( rotation was the most fun first they made it 3 year now they make this 5+ year basic set with day of judgement and llanowar eves ... i love llanowar elves but after 2-3 years its good and it can go
