The pump this has is a very unique one meaning that it is a proper gear pump instead of being a diaphragm type one. It can be opened, cleaned and put back and should work again. reliable and serviceable. Its called a PG-01 pump. The only other engine to have a gear pump is the 120 SP - super charged version

I don't remember for sure, I think the tank vent needs to be plugged when the engine is running. Mine had a T by the fuel inlet to the carburetor that was used to fill the tank. The vent needed to be open to fill the tank. The carb had to be fully closed to remove fuel the tank.

hi David,i just got one of these engines second hand but my pump looks to have a different lay out to yours,fuel nipples are not in the same place and no set screw in the middle.I havint run it yet,look forward to seeing yours run.Love your vids btw.keep them comming.Thanks

You know If this engine can run without the pump, with the pump isolated somehow?

I cannot answer that for sure. I believe that you would have to remove the pump and carb and replace with a non-pump style carb.
