I love that he really emphasized the respect they have for DID and how important it was to them to portray it well. Especially since all the interviewers were laughing a bit distastefully in the beginning.

Were they being distasteful or were you being too sensitive 🤔 They laughed when he said he was sharing his body with an actual deity. That's supposed to make viewers go "Woah". It's a Marvel movie, not a documentary on DID

No offense, but this s one of the problems with the world is that people are way too overly sensitive. They didn’t know about it before so it’s natural given the outlandish description/plot of the show to the naive viewer that they would laugh. He didn’t even mention did at that point.

This is for everyone who’s replied in this thread so far. But I absolutely loved the first episode. Something I loved is how they put us in the perspective of Steven throughout the entire episode. Because Marc is the main host body, and the one who was resurrected by Khonshu, it puts us the viewer in Steven’s shoes as if we’re experiencing his mental troubles and questioning of reality with him. Very genius imo. And I’m sure we’ll get to see Marc’s comic origin and becoming MK (or a version of it) through flashbacks. As someone who’s been a fan of Moon Knight for years, I was incredibly happy with how this first episode was, and love that they saved the suit reveal towards the end. There wasn’t a ton of action, at least that we got to see, but I think that works in the episodes favor to as I said earlier, truly get us into the psychological state of the character as well. Honestly gets a 10/10 from me. Great start to the series

@@Geordie_ I don't think it was bad. As you say, doesn't feel natural though. In my head he's posh East London who has spent a lot of his childhood in Essex or Kent. I dunno. It's executed well but it's not an accent that would exist in real life.
@worm95912 жыл бұрын
@@Geordie_ I think acting goes beyond just trying to seem "realistic." I think he was just trying to get the idea of Steven being a mild mannered, introverted, timid kind of guy across and he exaggerated a little bit. Nic Cage is a good example of not acting realistic yet still pulling off immensely emotional roles and scenes. A misconception of acting that's developed over the years is that you MUST act exactly like real life but I disagree. I liked him a lot in this role

@ElliottR0se2 жыл бұрын
I just want to warn you ahead of time, while yes Moon Knight is a superhero and he tries his best to be the good guy, he struggles with a lot of issues and violent tendencies that can come off as stereotypically offensive towards D.I.D, but his anger issues and mental health struggles have never been described as a result of one of his alters or as part of D.I.D. Aside from D.I.D. he has a lot of problems and its that alongside his desperate desire to be a hero and someone who does good in the world that makes the character so wonderful and a positive step in the right direction for D.I.D exposure in Hollywood. So if you do end up watching the show, just know that Moon Knight isn't going down that offensive hole Hollywood keeps throwing themselves into. I as well as many others love this character and the raw emotional core of his story, so I hope you can give this show the benefit of the doubt.
@msdasilva822 жыл бұрын
@@ElliottR0se thank you for explaining it to me. I haven't known moon knight's character before this. I got curious because it has been a topic in the DID community. I always get cautious in watching movies or series that has DID in it because i always get disappointed or even hurt by how innacurate and offensive it is. Having DID is tough but sometimes hillarious, there are alters that i love and amazes me and there are some that i struggle with until now, persecutor alters, i have one and she was my enemy for a long time, there's a saying: you are your worst enemy, that is so true! But we made peace now and on the road to recovery. I saw some movies and series that are accurate and whenever i see those scenes i could relate to i always cry happy tears because im like finally, someone gets it and i feel less alone. I saw the first episode of moon knight and i already got a lot of scenes that i can relate to especially the last scene, i have the same exact reaction when my first alter revealed herself to me. I replayed the last scene many times because i can relate so much. I am looking forward to the next episode and i will do my best to learn more about moon knight's character and how amazing He is. Thank you so much for your comment.

Oscar Isaac gave us one of the best performances playing both Marc Spector, Steven Grant and Moon Knight at the same time, especially in episode 5, what a dedication to the role, what drama, and what a story and scenario, it really is a masterpiece, i wishes to see more about Oscar Isaac characters specaly Jake Lockley that well perhapce see in the last episode. however, I really want to know more about the character played by Ethan Hawke, Arthur Harrow, because as we know he was Khonshu's apostle before Marc Spector, and he also shares deep past traumas, just like Spector, I hope Marvel will bring us deeper into the story of this character, how he whent from khonshu's apostle in to Ameth. finally i really hope Layla El-Faouly will be present as Red Scarab in futur projects cause there's an easter egg with Layla's father red scarf with a scarab symbol.
