I've watched a lot of his videos and I think I get the general message: While there are exceptions to rules, in general, don't throw belts on dresses. don't make a plunging neckline plunge into a U shape instead of a V shape. Stick with your core concept of what you want the piece to be and don't go crazy with 5 different main focuses of the dress. Don't be boring. Match your effin colors and fabrics. If you're gonna layer, it better be the right fabric and creates the right silhouette. If it's haute couture, it better effin fit the person's body. If there's nude mesh, and you put the piece on someone of color, the mesh better match their skin tone. If you're gonna drape, that ish better look tight. Don't choose a piece if the color will wash out the skin of the person wearing it. And if you're going to reference a classic piece, don't have the end result tarnish the image of the original piece. Do it justice.

The sleeve on Charlize's dress was more of a drape and was meant to be "falling off," lol. I remember her mentioning years ago that she has wide shoulders (as do I) so she looks for dresses with asymmetrical tops to trick the eye. I don't think that was what he was saying at all; he used a dress as an example, not a staple. he was trying to put forward that there are more ways to achieve the "baggy aesthetic" than doing the same thing over and over again and he's right. Even if she only wants to wear pants, there's ways to do it but make it different every time. If Billie never wears a dress that's her choice but no one can say that Gucci pajamas is the only thing she can ever wear to fit her aesthetic. He brought up a good point in one video where he took a look at things Missy Elliot, who at one point had the exact same aesthetic, wore that still fit the aesthetic she wanted but were iconic looks. TL;DR He's not saying Billie has to wear a dress or wear something form fitting, he's saying there are other ways to achieve the same aesthetic while still being different every time.
