I wanted to hike the shorter and steeper trail to the summit of #MountOsceola and #EastOsceola so I decided to hike in from #Greelypond Trailhead and I definitely got what I was asking for. This was a very seriously steep climb near the top and it was so much fun! A passing thunder shower slammed us while climbing and it felt so good to cool off. Temperatures were so warm that it was refreshing. Definitely took longer than expected finishing this hike as there was so much technical scrambles and climbing on wet rocks! NH48ers 28/29

I did this hike in winter, with nano-spikes. I almost turned back at least 5 times. But once I reached the summit it was all worth it!

Brian if you decide to get into overnights, get ZPacks duplex tent for you and B, (made out of water proof dynema, tuff and super lite), UGQ 20 deg quilts and an insulated sleeping inflatable pad. At least start looking at them, gear is extremely personal, look up “Darwin on the trail” and watch his gear reviews, he does a nice job with all the pros and Cons, he’s weight conscious and a hard core through hiker.

Yeah man it’s definitely something I’m gonna look into it for next year. There’s some things I want to do that involve camping. One of the things is the Lakeville Placid trail.

Brian_Hikes_All_Day The equipment is expensive, but it’s what’s saves your bacon when the weather gets nasty, you can get a piece at a time, you’re young and you’ll get a lot of use out of it!

I love dipping my buff into cold water and putting either back on my head, or wrapped on my wrist for the chill --- such a good feeling when it's gross outside ;) Good call bouncing from the summit party -- that's definitely not my style either. I'm glad that you guys had such amazing views after that storm -- so incredible! Great video.

ADK Woods Walker that’s the most crowded I have ever seen a summit in my life! The wet buff is definitely like air conditioning!

I absolutely do pack raincoats and everything else I needed. We didn’t use the raincoats because we weren’t cold

I have a wind proof waterproof Gore-Tex shell and several layers in bags in my pack. Extra socks the works. I rarely need to take it unless it’s a dire emergency though LOL.. I hiked this weekend waumbeck and Cabot in pouring rain.. we never use our raincoats on Wambach because we hiked fast and trail ran out and we were comfortable and warm. for Cabot we used them. I tend to dress as light as possible because I hike really hot and I like to be cool as possible.

Brian_Hikes_All_Day Good! Do you guys do just day hike or do you overnight backpack?
@BrianHikesAllDay
@BrianHikesAllDay 4 жыл бұрын
I have never done an overnight but it’s definitely something I want to explore in the future. I absolutely love taking a shower and sleeping in a bed after a nice day of hiking but I see the appeal of sleeping out overnight and just being out in nature waking up using my little stove to make some coffee and just listen to nature

Brian_Hikes_All_Day Yes you gotta get into it. Get the nemo regular wide tensor sleeping pad, nice bag, nemo tent, good little pillow ahhhh wake up along a wilderness pond with some mist, fall colors and your coffee.
