I don't really mention it in the video, but the final performance while I'm summing up at the end of the video is all sounds from the Ovum, being looped, panned and shaped by a tape loop patch I made on the Zoia.

I love messing with the Ovum when I just want to make sounds but can’t be bothered with menu diving, sequencing and linking devices etc. Just flop down on the sofa with headphones on 👍🏼The simplicity is what makes it instant and engaging.

Not far in, but you are already making some beautiful and intriguing microtonal sounds. I am impressed how well you are able to take what is very potentially a truly ugly sound into something as beguiling as it is alien and, well, different. Lovely work! Your demonstration and performance make me want to explore drone perfromances far more than I normally do.

Love the clip when it's running through the Monologue - I'll have to try that with mine. Ovum sounds lovely running through a nice delay too, when every little frequency tweak gives you a bit of feedback, it gives another interesting way of playing it... 🥚 ❤

What I really want for this is 5 mono outs! then it would become a real instrument to mix with, stick it through a mixer and pan and send and really shape the voices, I feel like the Lyra 8 could also really do with this feature. Sticking a headphone out on it relegates it to less than it is. And also to the pitch and sliders comment just add knobs that are bigger and more tactile, easily purchased from Thonk.

It would be very, very cool if one or more of the oscillators could be/switch-to noise and the pitch then swept noise colour. {edit - this thing is analogue! Noise would be easy if digi, but a lot of work to add to this - edit}

The one simple control i miss on the Lyra is a per voice level control. This looks lovely! For a drone synthesiser faders instead of keys makes perfect sense! Where did you manage to get it?
@OscillatorSink11 ай бұрын
Absolutely - that's why I love pairing it with the Lyra-8, best of both worlds! In North America you can buy direct from the manufacturer. I got mine from Juno in the UK who ship internationally (but are out of stock right now). Elsewhere it may be worth contacting Crows Electromusic and asking who stocks them locally.
