Thanks. I wish I had a teacher like you. Nowadays some oscilloscopes have built-in function generators but I shied away from buying one since it's probably a comprise. Best to have separate dedicated units. Count me as a new subscriber. Excellent job.

@@adannerI have read/ heard on videos that some people recommend connecting the oscilloscope to a floating power supply due to safety reasons and that is confusing to me. Can you explain that please. Thank you

Great intro for the uninitiated. Thanks for sharing.I t would be great if you could elaborate a bit on when and how to use 'Sweep' function, setting it up on signal generator and the scope.

That CMOS square wave output could be used as a steady clock source, I suppose. A few (handfuls of) flip flops, and you're down to dance music territory.

I have a Tektronix 336 storage scope and it should not be used for curve tracer readings. I had to disable the "storage function" in order to go X -Y and then I was OK and my curve tracer worked fine using function generator. The storage scope in your experiment is worthless as tits on a frog when trying to demonstrate whatever it is that you are trying to demonstrate. It serves nothing more than to confuse students who are beginners. Storage scopes are incompatible for your experiment and nothing at all was learned from your demonstration. I hope you are not an application engineer. Gary Grove
