OSE A.451 Locomotives, Part One - 1997

In 1973-1974 OSE took delivery of twenty Montreal Locomotive Works MX627 locomotives. These soon became the backbone of OSEs main line passenger and freight operation until 1998-1999 when the Adtranz A.471 locomotives took over passenger services. Since them they have been refurbished and modified for freight operation. Unlike most of the
other types of OSE locomotives the A.451s are still operational in Greece, though without their orange paint or steam heating equipment.

A.458 leaving Tithoria with train 501, 08:02 Thessaloniki - Pireas

A.461 leaving Larissa with train 500, 07:48 Pireas - Thessaloniki
A.459 leaving Leptokaria with train 602, 14:24 Athens - Dikea
28th September 1997
A.453 leaving Soufli with train 602, the previous days 14:24 Athens - Dikea.
30th September 1997
A.463 with a dead A.467 leaving Thiva with train 501.
A.470 arriving at Thiva with train 602, 14:24 Athens - Dikea.
A.470 departing Lianokladi with train 602, 14:24 Athens - Dikea.
4th October 1997
A.470 leads A.458 out of Athens on train 504, 23:17 Athens - Thessaloniki.
5th October 1997
A.456 leaving Athens with train 1511, 05:35 from Volos.
A.457 leaving Athens toward Rouf with breakdown train vehicles.
A.462 leaving Athens with train 602, 14:24 Athens - Dikea.
