Hey Oshin, please don't say your old videos were bad because all of your videos are so thought out and beautiful. I know we can all be our own worst critic at times but your sims are literally amazing! From time to time I still watch your old family series. I love the idea about story telling about women who can't get pregnant because I struggled with that personally and everyone always expected me to be the one to have children because I really connect with children. I think this type of story will hit home for many of us with this situation. I absolutely love your decorations and furnishing the house it looks beautiful.

In regards to fertility, that’s exactly why I love the Sims so much. It’s therapeutic for me, as I can have kids and a family in game, whereas I couldn’t in real life. There is a huge void for me that it fills somewhat. I would have loved kids and grands, so I can relate to your story line and look forward to watching them in your rotation.

As a person who always wanted to be a mom and has unfortunately reached 45 without being one, I am happy to see you embrace that story. Its a mixed bag that its so easy in Sims to just have as many kids as you want. Some days I love that fantasy where ‘try for baby’ will almost always give you a baby, but other times I need the catharsis of seeing someone else have the same struggle and the realness of that. I too have a Sim family I play as needing fertility treatment to have their kid and I pretty much play the mom and dad as dotting on the little boy because he was so hard to have.

The thoughts you spoke in this video were so good and it genuinely seems like we’re having a conversation together somehow. ☺️ What really touched me the most was when you mentioned how people with ‘better equipment’ may have different opinions with people who may have less. And my answer is yes, I started the sims on a crappy computer that could barely handle cc and it really humbled me with everything the sims team creates.

I think the origin is Lifesimmer's Sims 4 LP when it first came out. She was always showing up uninvited, so the joke was that she was a stalker, I think. I can't remember, it's been so long.

Btw I could see that Eliza and Bob would definitely have a lot of parties where they invite all of their friends and neighbours to hang out, whether it’s serving drinks in the basement or having fun at the backyard :) They’re that couple who has fun with your own kids and who you can always ask help from, like an aunt and an uncle. You made them so much warmer and loving. I can’t wait to see them parenting!

Eliza and Bob might be like a lot of couples they struggle with fertility decide to adopt and then find out their actual pregnant since adopting took the stress away of conception

I know so many couples like that haha, my mom recently got into a relationship and she's been so happy because they respect each other's space and alone time and have no intention of ever living together. I think some people just really need time to themselves and that's okay!

I love your words about the different sims games. Sims 2 also got me into the franchise. Sims 3 was a good upgrade from that, but also felt completely different. I have to say though, around the time just before Sims 4 was getting announced, I kind of felt like a new Sims game could be nice because I slowely started to lose interest. It was very hard for me with the games before to tell stories. All I did was just following my sims' aspirations and wishes. With Sims 4 I was able to keep up with a family for a longer time in the first time, because it was easier to give them their own personalitites, be creative with them. And I honestly still wouldn't want to have another game. I'm happy with the Sims 4, it could be better, of course but almost every game could be. To me all the sims games are just so different and I play differently with them.

Love your take on the Pancakes Oshin! I've always seen them as a high strung person with a low energy partner. You can guess which is which lol. And I know this is a small thing, but I loved that whole talk about the different sims franchise. The Sims 4 has a lot of issues, but it also has a lot of room to grow. I often compare it to Skyrim and it's fanbase. The game could really profit from some quality of life updates to it's code/system. But a lot of people have made it work for them regardless. TLDR: The Sims 4 is a mess, but it's my mess of choice lol.

so true the sims is a life simulation and ee all have our individual struggles in life and that includes all kind of stories being able to be told. I have started to include infertility and adoption "stories" in my own gameplay a lot more the last few years

I originally had it where Bob and Eliza had twin girls. Idk why I just imagined it for them but hearing you talk about Eliza's struggle with fertility and the possibility of adoption has inspired me a lot! I'm still stuck on the idea of them having two children but I think it'll be a fun storyline where Eliza and Bob adopt but after a few months with the new baby she finds out shes pregnant. c:

You’re the first person I’ve heard say Eliza is a Karen. I didn’t know that was a common perspective. I’ve always seen her as someone who’s stuck in a loveless marriage and didn’t know how to get out. Bob was always the “villain”, the antagonist in my mind. But that’s what I love about the community, there’s so many different stories to tell. So excited to watch the Pancakes story unfold!

My Bob and Eliza met when cast as the leads of an ill-fated cross-over show featuring network darlings Life as Liz (Eliza) and Bobs Pancakes (obvs Bob). Eliza’s mom in my save is an overbearing stage mom and Bob doesn't speak to his raging alcoholic father. Bob is goofy and over the top and Eliza is a littler neurotic but loveable. They are of sorts, a Bob and Linda love story. They ended up leaving the limelight after Eliza found out she was pregnant in order to give Izzy a normal life (as normal as they can at least) and now own the local pancake cafe called Flip.

The infertile story isn't cliche at all! My grandpa's sister, (whose name is Elizabeth and we call her Liza so it's actually so close to Eliza too, lol) raised nearly all the kids in my neighborhood, I'd go to her's to study, play etc. She kind of raised us all and everyone calls her aunt Liza and she's also infertile unfortunately, but she would always say that she already has so many children and that she had so much love to give that it'd be unfair for only one kid to have it, so she spread it to all of us🥺❤ So I think Eliza's story is kind of perfect. She could be Willow Creek's aunt Eliza🥺

In my save the pancakes aren’t actually together! Eliza goes by her family name Hastings and she is a lesbian in a romantic fling with Summer Holiday, and my Bob is actually Bisexual.
