Victor Osimhen also showed at the ACON that he's also quite capable of NOT getting goals. Italian football is not what it was. Just look at how Ruben, Pulasic and Lukaku are shredding the place. Also Slonina looked excellent with the ball at his feet during our pre-season. I was seriously impressed. I don't think he did a single thing wrong.

Reuben and co are shredding the place due to favorable tactical setup, NOT due to being in an inferior league. Afterall 4th placed Milan best 4th placed Newcastle over 2 legs in the champions league. As for Osimen, I noticed during their game against Atalanta that he was more focused on overpowering the defender marking him (Swedish guy called Isak Hien). Some defenders are just too powerful and too skilled to push over. I get that his power play is a major part of his game but he has to find more subtle ways to get around powerful defenders if he is to reach Harry Kane's levels.

Other than Lavia and lack of a striker, recruiting has been ok. The way we concede goals I can only point to the coach. He doesn't prioritise defending as well as set pieces (both defending and attacking set pieces). When was the last time we scored a goal from a corner?
