Krysanova performs the Gamzatti Variation elegantly and - - at @ 1:14 I'm so impressed ❤️ as her upper body and arms go in a slow motion movement. @@mich9541 Muscovite style ...related to or coming from Moscow? Essentially a Russian style, which is generally a big, open, sweeping style. Very dramatic too. They are dancers with the Bolshoi Ballet, and Bolshoi means "big."

@@josephfong3509 As opposed to the Kirov/Maryinsky style, which is less flamboyant and more polished. Nureyev, Makarova, and Baryshnikov were all trained there, as was Ulanova before she was transferred to the Bolshoi at Stalin's request. I'd say the dancers in this video are the best of both worlds, St. Petersburg elegance in the adagio, Bolshoi razzmatazz when it's time for the leaps and bounds.

I adore Osipova in this, such elegant technique and true acting. An added plus is the quietness of her pointe shoes, this can be a distraction if the shoes are particularly loud. I enjoyed Vasiliev and Krysanova equally, thanks for sharing.

Astonishing performances by both. Stunning and exquisite characterizations and technical virtuosity unmatched by any other dancers in this long and devilishly difficult ballet. I am always astonished by Osipova - the greatest ballerina of our times. Today she is in a class by herself - Pavlova, Ulanova, Makarova, Fonteyn, Plisetskaya, (And perhaps a few others should be included ) and now Osipova.

Thank you ever so much . Appreciate it - can you imagine seeing them in person? Oh wow. Many, many years ago my sister and I took our mum to see Margot Fonteyn and Rudolph Nuyerev in Adelaide . I think we’ve remembered it all our lives. Maybe farewell tour , something like that but they came to Adelaide in south Australia. I’ll never forget it. I know she was in Sydney last year, oh maybe the year before mow, must count in Covid. She gave a long interview from the Opera House in Sydney and clips of her dancing. Some just ‘go together’. Thank you so very much 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Its the only wrong note for me. The line is broken, when dancers over-extend. They have to lean to avoid the leg. Head to toe is the primary line.

FATHOM ran the Bolshoi Bayadere last year and I had the same question. That's what I settled on as an interpretation. I still prefer ending with the temple destruction...

Yeah, that was a really strange thing to do with the ending. Maybe the video editing machine went berserk! Thanks for finding this! Whenever you list Bayadere as having 3 acts, I have to take a breath and look at the company name and realize that the Western mountings of the ballet mean something very different when they say "Act 3." Many Western companies use Makarova's staging, in which Act 3 is the attempted wedding of Gamzatti and subsequent destruction of the temple. Excited to see more of this cast, and thanks for posting!

I guess my other comment should have gone with the video of Acts 1 and 2! Are there even names for some of the leaps/aerial moves Vasiliev does? I kept having to stop the video and advance a little at a time to see how he was getting from one position to the next. What an amazing artist! I'd seen the little 10-minute video of what I guess was their first night dancing Nikiya and Solor at the Bolshoi and had always wanted to see a little more than the dribs and drabs you got of the dancing, so thank you so much for getting this up. Is it professional? I figured yes because of the logo (which obstructs an unforgivable amount of the screen with this aspect ratio), but there are times when zooming in results in a loss of focus and where the videographer doesn't seem to grasp that something important is going on on another part of the stage (like Nikiya's Shades entrance), so not professional? Amazing they weren't yet principals. Again, thanks for posting!

Just wow! Thank you . I think Vasiliev is superb but Osipova is in a class all by herself. Her fluidity is perfection. She speaks with her arms. And let’s not talk about those incredibly strong feet! Together , they are perfection itself. Some people just’click’ - they double clicked. You could tell it in their dancing. Do you know if they ever danced together again once they split up. That was when Natalia moved to London wasn’t it. I’m not trying to pry into personal circumstances, just curious to see if they still had that ‘it’ apart. Thank you kindly. Quanta bellezza! Già adoro la Bayadere ma vederla ballata dalla migliore ballerina al mondo e dal miglior ballerino(anche la loro partnership la migliore al mondo) al mondo ne moltiplica il la bellezza per 15 volte! Natalia è proprio splendida, non ci sono parole per esprimere quanto sia meravigliosa, si vede trasparire il dolore da ogni singola parte del suo corpo e quando interpreta un ombra sembra veramente senza peso, è così eterea e casta, non c' è niente da dire è proprio la migliore ballerina al mondo, la migliore in ogni ruolo(ovviamente a mio parere e fa eccezione la morte del cigno in cui è superata da Anna Pavlova) ! E Ivan… non parliamone di quando è meraviglioso ! Anche Ekaterina è bellissima in Gamzatti! Quando stavo guardando i pas de deux (anche quello dell' 1 e del 2 atto sempre da loro ballato, sto facendo le considerazioni per tutti e due i video qui) mi stavo quasi commuovendo! Di Natalia nella Bayadere non si trova molto, specie in Nikiya , quindi grazie infinite per questi video! Se proprio devo trovare una pecca è che il Bolshoi non fa il quarto atto, sarebbe stato bellissimo vederlo, è un peccato!

Просто Васильев здесь еще рядом с Натальей... Каким же одухотворённым рождался танец, когда они творили ВМЕСТЕ! Она была ДУШОЙ танца в этой паре, а он- вместилищем этой души, и вместе они были единым, невероятно гармоничным, целым, творящим чудеса на сцене!... Теперь душа бродит неприкаянная по свету, а вместо Васильева-танцует бездушное тело...нельзя было им разъединяться, в итоге проиграли все, кроме, быть может, Марии Виноградовой. Но балет и зрители-однозначно в проигрыше! Васильев же, судя по его самодовольному виду, пребывает в счастливом неведении относительно своего полного "заземления" в "послеосиповский" период- что творит с мужчиной плотская страсть, способность летать утеряна окончательно и бесповоротно...какой уж тут полет, когда место стремления к совершенству заняло стремление к котлеткам и земным утехам жены....

Наталья продолжает свой полёт в Лондоне. Она невероятно интересна. Ее совершенствование продолжается, в отличие от Ивана. Её талант многогранен, и с каждым новым спектаклем в нём раскрываются всё новые грани. Как жаль, что мы лишены радости общения с искусством этой выдающейся балерины, она так редко бывает в России...

@@irinav.keller3889 Так правильно делают иностранцы. Котлетки отдельно, балет отдельно. Он такой прыгучий, за кулисы прыгает. Воронцову как пушинку вертел в Дон Кихоте. После смотрела в БТ. Кордебалет хорошо, а солисты увы и ах после них. Отличный танцовщик. Думаю это мамы и бабушки менее удачливых критикуют. Процитирую вторую часть пословицы "Караван идет". Пожелаем ему успехов и здоровья

По моему мнению, костюм Гамзати слвершенно вразрез с индийской историей. Какой бы высокородной она ни была, одеть балерину в классическую пачку просто нонсенс.Ведь на остальных исполнителях костюмы с восточным налетом.

Has a bit imperfect from this video,has sound distortion from snake dance music . I love the snake dance part from La Bayadere, watching over hundred times the same act performed from different ballerinas,each music notes and dancing movement are all in my mind. Evgenia and Svetlana Zakharova used to be my best favorite snake dancer. After watching this video, showing Natalia even performed better than them. Vaganova academy trained all of them well, no doubt, it is a place to produce top ballerina in world.

Отношение к конкретному артисту балета каждого зрителя субъективно. Осипова великолепна. У Васильева жуткая, непропорциональная фигура, хоть он и техничен. На мой взгляд, который никому не навязываю. Сама никогда на него не пойду.
