Im an OG pokemon player. Im talking about OG red blue n green. You younger folks are so accustomed to so many amazing games and have had pokemon around all your lives. Pokemon was new when i was 10 and ill never forget the absolute joy and fun i had collecting the cards and taking my gameboy everywhere and playing my pokemon on it. Back then there was no online play, playing video games required a tv. So to be able to play pokemon on your little gameboy ANYWHERE anytime was like, life changing. All you needed was batteries n light to see your screen. I havent played a pokemon game in SOOOO LONG. I thought about doing so here n there but things seemed so different so i would change my mind. After beating TOTK i needed something to play and i just didnt even hesitate in buying violet which i should know better but i got lucky and this game is so much fun. I remember daydreaming back in the OG gameboy days of having a pokemon game where instead of the pokemon randomly appearing in bushs, you could actually see them and run up to them ect, basically exactly what we got here in violet. I wish i could let my 9yo self play this. I dont think id eat or sleep, just play this.

Send your mon out to fight and it won’t fight a shiny. In the bottom corner it will show your mon have little sweat beads. Then go encounter the shiny yourself and it will have the shiny animation. It will be harder for you than others but there are still ways to tell if a wild Pokémon is shiny.

ONE HUGE THING missing.. AREAS you have been to on the map being marked! There should be a transparent draw line for every place you walked like other games, It would be cool to know the places you walked through besides just fly points! Imagine an imaginary free hand drawline that goes along with where you go! that way if you have been to an area it will show you where you HAVE NOT BEEN!

Press down the right joystick on your controller when you have the map open, it will lock it to North. This is something that really annoyed me too.

Another thing to not is version exclusives. If you join someone’s Violet game through the Union Circle from Scarlett you have access to there version exclusives and I found this out by complete accident. My partner hosted a local coop through the Union Circle and we were musing about if we could see each others exclusives or not and turns out you can and even catch them. So players can get exclusives without trading by hopping into the other game via coop

Thank you! I’ve wanting to grab Scarlet and my husband Violet but we weren’t sure how the exclusives would work or if we should just buy one copy and save money. Wouldn’t be worth it if we couldn’t hop around the others version. That’s awesome info thank you. I haven’t even seriously considered picking it up yet as I’m still finishing up Arceus and my husband doing post game Sword and Shield rn, just the games we have fun on. The overworld shinies not making a sparkle is such a baffling decision Ive no clue what to think Nobody knows how many shinies you'll miss just by not noticing the colour palette or just not noticing the Pokémon at all, Ive almost missed a shiny Toxtricity and only got it because I went like "hmmm, isnt it a bit too pink?"

There's actually 4 quests/ campaigns. So lots of depth and content. No one mentions or talks about it. But you get a nice detailed 4th one after doing the first 3 campaigns. 🙂

I just want to correct you level 6 Raids is not the Max.. Through special events you can see level 7 and level 8. There's actually a level 7 raid event planned for December already.

It's a real shame/disappointed that some of my favourite Pokemon like : Fire Type: Vulpix, Ninetales, Ponyta and Rapidash. Water Type: Milotic, Lapras, Lanturn, Starmie, Sharpedo, Goldeen and Seasking. Electric Type: Manectric, Zebstrika, Emolga and Boltund. Ghost Type :Chandelure, Golurk and Aegislash. Dark Type: Absol, Liepard and Liepard. Flying Type: Pidgeot, Swellow, Swanna and Mandibuzz. Bug Type: Beautfly, Butterfree, Mothim and Escavalier. Fairy Type: Alolan Vulpix, Ninetales, Galarian Ponyta and Rapidash. Normal Type: Delcatty, Lopunny, Cinccin and Glameow. I also can't believe that Charizard is appearing in Scarlet and Violet Games while Venasaur and Blastoise are not, it's as if Charizard is becoming more popular than the other Kanto Starter Pokemon and the fire starter Pokemon from other region even more. But I am glad to see the Kalos Starter Pokemon are returning in the Nintendo Switch, I'm just hoping in 2023 that there will be a DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet very soon so there's a chance some of my favourites POkemon will return just like they did for Pokemon Sword and Shield.

It should also be worth noting that pokemon do not evolve if leveled up via auto battle. Not sure if this was intentional by gamefreak or if my game had glitched up or something.

They should've added an Icon similar to the "new move" icon and allow the player to trigger the evolution in the menu - similar to PLA.

I had autosaves turned off due to bugs in passed games soft locking you. so when my game crashed and I lost 2 Titans and a Gym I was pretty upset. Found a work around for it tho, apparently the game still does a sort of autosave? When you open the game and are on the main menu just hit x, b, and up on the d pad. It brought me to a menu to choose a save that was from flying to a center just before the crash.

If you hatch or catch a Pokémon in your game it will always obey you. The obedience/disobedience of Pokémon only affects traded Pokémon.

I just finished arceus. Didn't have many expectations based on graphics. Cause let's be honest.... arceus is possible one of the worst graphically looking games of 2022... like seriously I thought I was playing Duke nukem on dos. The mechanism were alright but lacked the same structure as previous games. The focus there was exploration and battling was an option. I far more enjoy scarlet so far. The story and environment are 10 times better. I can over look the draw distance issues and lags spikes.

Nah quaxly just provides more value for a playthrough than any other starter 😂, fuecoco(skeldirge) most of time ends up dying to a couple of hits if u don't set him up so its better to use him late game for tera raids , sprigatito(meowskarada) is basically garbage due to its typing along with its absymal defenses. if it doesn't ohko ,it's dead that turn lol 😂
