What's the purpose of saying 'diving depth' when it doesn't work with the diving case. It would be a great feature, only covered by paralenz which is now discontinued...

After diving the depth data didn't turned all for a whole day until I reset to the factory settings. Now I even do not have the Depth Display settings available. Only the Auto Record and the Auto Stop in the Dive submenu. Also, until I reset the settings I couldn't reach the Gallery, because its icon is in the place of the diving data. My firmware is 10.00.00.24/00.04.11.18. I don't want to update to the latest one because it look raw to me according to reviews on YT. DJI, any ideas on this issue? Thanks. UPD: I updated to the latest firmware (01.01.05.20/10.00.10.18) - do not have the issue of the Depth Display stuck, but because it doesn't show when I dive. I dived to about 2-3 meters and it did't pop up. Also, I had the issue that when surfacing there was a pink color biased in white balance. This issue was not fixed by the new firmware

Same issue ~ first use of the Action 5 Pro today in the water. Depth info never appeared during both dives. I'm not using the underwater case and my depth settings are good. Firmware is the latest from Oct 18.

Auto Stop: "the camera will automatically stop withen the set time after it is aboce surface of the water" I found this not to be working properly. Often it still reads -0.1 meters even when I have it above the surface. Would be great if Auto Stop could be at say -0.5 meter depth to ensure stop at surface.

Hey I’m thinking of buying this camera for spearfishing, but I’m wondering how it holds up for all day spearfishing trips in saltwater. I like the idea of auto start and stop because on my GoPro I often forgot to stop recording and wasted my battery. Also, from what I understand, you can’t use the case if you want this feature , but on the website it says for extended underwater usage you should use the case. How has it been holding up for you without the case? Thank you

@ It’s fine to use down to about 20 meters without the case. The auto start/stop doesn’t work for spearfishing with current FW unfortunately, but I did provide the feedback to DJI on the forum. I still use the action 4. Only bought the 5 because I hoped this feature would work similar to the paralenz.

@@MichaelEngel thanks for the reply. I’m hoping they come up with an update soon. I bought the camera anyway because I was due for an upgrade. That was the most annoying thing I had with a GoPro six I kept forgetting to stop recording. Or you think you already turned off recording and now you have a great shot and you press the button and actually you turned off recording when ur getting a big fish… and then it’s just a fish story with no proof 😆
