Looked up the Osmo 3 today for car rollers. Every video I saw had so many micro jitters... Sad lol. Proceeded to look up a vibration damper and found the insta360 one. Searched for a small 4th axis arm like my tilta I use now and found Scotty's website. Looked up videos of people using either of those and nothing with the Osmo (for roller shots). THEN YOUR VIDEO POPS UP AND YOU EVEN USED THEM TOGETHER which was exactly what I wanted to test! Epic video man, thank you for posting this. Subscribed! I have a video on my page of my friends Grom and BMW S1000 using the tilta and Sony A7Siii. But for traveling gigs with work at racetracks, this can all fit in my backpack. 😁

This is what I'm having a problem with, the micro vibrations. I attach it to a car via suction cup mount and I will notice micro vibrations. I'm also curious if the wind is pushing on the gimbal head and it's trying to compensate for the force of the wind, thus making some sort of vibration in the footage

This is a great idea. I stumbled across your first video and now saw this one. Have you considered mounting the Osmo somewhere on your backpack?! It would take out the micro vibrations and the heavy bumps you sometimes experience. I guess it would also help with the wind at higher speeds. A backpack may even work with z axis stabilizer. The footage from the Osmo certainly beats any action cam with regards to quality- also the active track and side view looks great. Well done mate - cheers Oliver

Thanks so much 🙏🏻 when you do them though could you put a quick bit in the description what the camera settings and nd filter is at as I know you’re testing them too, and so am I so would love to steal yours! @JayJankulovski8 ай бұрын
No problem bro! Yeah I’ll make sure to explain the settings I’m using next time :) it’s pretty much the same across all the cameras I use. I’ve seen a video online about the damper with the X3 and it actually made the footage look a lot worse. The damper is basically just to stop damage happening to the camera over time
@yodomcat8 ай бұрын
@@JayJankulovski cheers mate 👍🏻 shame I hoped I was missing a trick with the X3! But the dampener does only look effective when on a flat surface (not a selfie stick). Have you seen Quadlock have a mount now for action cams, their system and dampener could open more angles for your set up 👍🏻

Do the vibrations happen primarily when you’re in a lean? My thinking is the 4th axis stabilizer works best when the camera is vertical. Otherwise you’re limiting it. Ideal setup could be a pivot at the base with a counter weight which would keep the camera vertical and the 4th axis stabilizer working. Or try leaning less in the corners to give it a better chance at soaking up the bumps.
@JayJankulovski7 ай бұрын
This is a good point! I’ll have to look into this👀it’s definitely much harder to get smooth footage when mounting it to a bike compared to a car for this leaning reason on the bike. 🤔
