No, it is not on the specification. It is in the Oxford University textbook, but this is more for a wider context.

Thank you for the excellent video. I just have one question though. How does less ADH cause a decrease in the permibility of the membranes of the epithelial cells of the DCT and collecting ducts? I understand that a increase in ADH would cause more aquaporins to be embedded in the membrane of the epithelial Cells, but what would happen to the existing aquaporins to decrease permiability?

I guess the opposite? There'd be lesser aquaporin proteins embedded in the membrane and hence less water will be able to move out of the distal tubule and collecting duct causing the urine to be more dilute

because ADH only decreases the permeability, so if there's less of it, there'll be more permeability

At 4:16 you mentioned in the corrective mechanism for when blood H2O potential is too low, the urine would become more concentrated due to less H2O being lost in urine. I thought it would be less concentrated due to more water being retained. I'm slightly confused by this!

more concentrated in solutes (urea, ions, etc) as there is less water in the urine.

Why is water leaving in hypertonic, wouldn’t water move in because theres a low water potential, and water always moves from a high to low water potential? Thanks.

It is moving in, and that's a bad thing, you need the water to be in the cells to stop crenation

@@toshkoj6687 I think it means the blood water potential in blood is low, so water will move out from cells in to the blood by osmosis, which is down that gradient. So yes it is moving *in* technically but you have to be specific with which direction (from where and into where)

Wait, so is osmoreceptor a receptor or a cell? Because if it is a receptor then how will it shrink or expand from osmosis?

osmoreceptors are cells. In the nervous system, when it says receptor it means cells that can detect the stimulus
