i got the beaver pet pet the day it was released, got the chin pet at 58 hunter (thats like a 1 in 129k) then got it golden in like 10-20 trys told my clan my character just oozes luck. couple of clan members and i decided to do bandos for a bit, 3rd kill he got... curved bone. Poor guy can't stop staring at the bone. At least my luck streak continues.

If you would like a solution to your game. You should always guess under. You have a 63.25% chance of receiving the item before the drop rate. Using a whip as an example, the maths can be broken down as such; the probability you don't get a whip on each kill is 511/512. So the chance it doesn't occur in 512 trials is (511/512)⁵¹². So the probability that it 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 occur at least once in the 512 kills is 1-(511/512)⁵¹². Which works out to be around 63.25%! PS this is the first video of yours I've seen, and that intro got you an instant sub :D

You do realize that previous drop occurrence doesn't effect the next one. e.g if you get a whip drop, the chance of having a whip drop on the next kill is still 1/512. Or if you don't get a whip drop for 5000 kills, the chance of having a whip drop on the next kill is still 1/512.

Massive nerd here: it's better to guess under for every drop because you have about a 63% chance to get a drop by the droprate. The chance of not getting something by droprate is (x-1/x)^x which is approximately 1/e as X goes to infinity. 1/e ~= 37% so the chance of not getting a drop by droprate is only 37%

See I thought this too but then I was also thinking that the overall number of trials was set at 5 as there were five items. So if we create a new random variable y which represents whether you are correct on gusessing over or under then Y approximately follows a binomial distribution(5,3/5) so would it not make sense to guess under for 3 and over on 2 as the optimum strategy.

Backstab bossing: Duo bossing (multiple bosses) in pvp worlds (skulled). Bank the drops in your name. At any time one of you may pk the other stealing the other players inv of loot. Cannot move on to the next boss until one of you has been pked. Cannot tp away when fighting each other, but can tp away from random pkers. Price check the boss loot you obtained in total, highest value wins. Perhaps add a rule where you get bonus money/points for every pk fight won.

First up what a great intro! Secondly, mathematically does it not make sense to always choose under? If we model the barrows example with a binomial distribution where X is the random variable that represents a barrows item, with n the number of trials being equal to 17 and p the probability of not getting a barrows item as 16/17 then the P(X=0) = (16/17)^17 which equals 35.7%. You therefore have a 64.3% chance of getting a barrows item within 17 trips. The expected value of x will also be equal to 1 - we would expect to receieve a barrows item within 17 trips. Maybe as you did 5 items and you have roughly a two thirds chance each time of being right with under you should pick 3 under and 2 over? Please could someone let me know if you should consider each item independently and always choose under or as a collection of 5 trials and choose under 3 times and over twice?

super awsome unique video idea: There are some (mostly shitty) programs for gesture controlling your pc. I've tried NPointer and and worked more or less. use this to do some competitive tasks against each other, like a pvp battle or getting an item from scratch. bossing could get really difficult, but i guess barrows or something is doable. inverted steering could also be funny...
