Excuse me, what? Barrow had such an incredible redemption arc towards the latter half of the show that it's absolutely ludicrous to suggest he's any less loveable than the rest. His subplot at the end of the film was one of the most emotionally powerful in the whole movie.

I love Thomas. The writing of his character is perfection. He does a really good job portraying what it must of been like to be a gay man living amongst a bunch of happy people involved in relationships. He has moods and acts accordingly ... just like all of us. I really appreciate that fact that his character is multi-dimensional.

@@shannondore I remember my Mom used to take us to the drive end and the first time I remember seeing Maggie Smith was at the drive end when my Mom went to go see, "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie". That's the first time I ever saw her and remembered her. My next favorite movie that she was in was "Evil Under the Sun", the Agatha Christie whodunit made in the 70's. She was a riot in that. Also in "Death in the Nile", too, she was a riot.

For me it was Bates. Quiet, modest, and kind but covering a lot of scars and pains. He struck me as a man trying to rebuild his life without asking for sympathy or help. Ah, the English. They take this stuff more seriously and as a job-job, though are still filled with passion and a calling. I remember watching an interview with some actors on the set of Bride and Prejudice (American/British/Indian cast). In the Downton Abbey series we have a good mix of upstairs/downstairs stories and characters. No one steals the limelight, they’re all, unlike the characters they portray, equal in the internal struggles of this grand house. Lady Mary is, I have to admit, a personal favourite, but, the whole household is, without question or favouritism, great to watch and get interested in. Thanks to the whole outfit, from sandwich- makers, (if there are any), to the author, Julian Fellowes. We appreciate and love you all.

The young man who played Thomas is actually quite handsome. While playing Thomas he usually had such a pinched, mean look about him, it took away from his beauty.

Love the entire cast. Matthew Crawley was especially easy on the eye if a bit surly and awkward. The Downstairs crew were all just excellent. Perfectly cast and most relatable. New film coming in May. Might have to break down and go to the cinema.

Difficult to pick one. They are all good as each other. Everyone plays their characters so strong. In the first couple of seasons it was Daisy whome I really admired. I felt she was special and the series wasn't complete without her. But as time went by, watching more episodes I feel all the characters are unique. Mosley is funny and I like him too. They all play incredibly good. 👍🏻👍🏻

It is difficult to choose a favorite among such a wonderful and talented cast of totally believable characters. The wonderful writing of the script and direction gave value to everyone. If I had to choose one, it would be Daisy, the most diminutive role superbly played.

For myself, Downton Abbey represents that special show like Upstairs, Downstairs from the 1970s. It has heart, wit, class, taste, and style. The characters are so delightfully complex and yet so relatable to people of numerous classes. Its progressive views are still very suitable for the conservatives, but manage to strike a chord with more modern individuals.
