Thanks. I learned a lot. It's complicated, but with practice manageable. Are you charged a fee by each country and airport for flight handling?

@@DavidWade66 Thanks for your comment. Indeed, practice makes perfect. After a while you will know what instructions to expect at which phase of the flight. It doesn’t take long. To your question: airway fees are charged Europe-wide, but landing fees separately by airports. In addition, some airports require handling (Rotterdam does, Ostende doesn’t) that imply handling charges. Overall, many more fees in Europe than in the US. For me, fees are on average 7% of the annual operating cost.
