I’m only 26 and I have sickle cell anemia and after I had my first stroke due to negligence at the ER I woke up with another pain causing disease and they don’t work well together avn has only been confirmed in both hips but since I’ve had pain in my knees and feet as well and they keep saying they don’t see anything in the X-rays and won’t try an MRI because from a medical perspective it makes no difference which is that there’s no treatment expect to replace the bone which they want me to avoid and endure the pain as long as I can before getting the surgery because I have high chances of infection because of the sickle cell I’m so discouraged walking is getting harder every day

I have it in both my hips. Had hip replacement in one leg and core decompression in the right would like to connect i am only 28

I had it in both hips and had total hip replacements 10 years ago. I did not have any of the causes that are mentioned here, and my doc had no ideas why this happened to me. It began to be noticeable somewhere around age 55, and I was 62 when they were replaced. I waited almost too long as the left one was really bad, and I was probably 3 or 4 months away from a wheel chair. It is quite painful, so if you find out you have it, get something done as soon as possible!

I'm not sure if anyone is still reading the comments, I was diagnosed with bilateral AVN of femoral head my early 30's and had total knee replacement by 40. I have been trying to find anyone who also has avn to talk to where it is so rare. Instead of sharing my email address, and I am not sure if I get notified if anyone happens to reply but I started a small business and my website has contact me and would love to talk to people who also have been dealing with this. In addition, I see a hemotolgy oncologist for it and I, along with my renowned orthopedic surgeon believe with certainty that it was caused by lupron injections from 20 years ago (under 10k cases of avn each year, yet 4% of women that used lupron develop avascular necrosis!

I'm was recently diagnosed with avn on the left hip. I think you are on to something. Since my diagnosis I've come to the conclusion that many medications are probably to blame, but for obvious reasons you won't find many studies. Just alcohol and steroids come up as the main culprits.

So sorry Honey...l have it from asshole doctors and my own neglect, 😨fear! Educate yourself Love,💙 wishing you the best. I think anemia did it to me...l had stage 4 for 5 years, living AGONY beyond belief. After FINALLY finding an angel of a surgeon, l'm now pain-free there ...unfortunately the other hip and two knees are on the way! If you need info, ask me. Go natural in all ways possible.

Yes. I have it everywhere
