I once had a bone cancer scare, aged 23. I told them that I would not consent to any form of treatment, least of all, amputation! I would rather die from cancer! However, after hearing of Miguel's story, my mind has half- changed! One can lead a full life without a leg! Wish you well, Miguel!!!

The same exact thing happened to me , i played basketball and trained and ran for long periods of times . My knee started hurting and it got to the point where i couldnt do it nomore . I had to amputate my leg . @@gordanazakula4927 Dying from osteosarcoma is no joke. It will always go to your lungs, and grow there, I don't think you need a further explanation, a friend of mine died of osteosarcoma, pain in bones cant be treated so easily, so you wont have a painless death.

Really motivated..... I was done by Bone Grafting 8 years ago and I have pain still, recently check up shows some symptoms of tumor and sometimes within few days I may undergo Biopsy, which I don't like to be done

I'm so sorry if what you went through I just got done with my chemo I was a freshman in highschool training for football and the lifting and running hurt my leg so I went and a bunch of stuff happened and then I got a biopsy and they confirmed I had an active tumor and under went chemo and now I'm here seeing if my donor bone will take but they think it's got under red so I'll prob have to get a rod put in my leg

God's best wishes to you! Thank you for informing us of this! Cancer can begin in any of the billions of cells that make up an organism. The mechanism by which cancerous cells expand and reproduce in order to produce new cells as needed by the body is known as cell dividing.

Cell division simply means that the cells replicate. Every cell of your body does it. From the very first cell you were at creation ( fusion of your mom's egg and dad's sperm) cells divided to create the different cell types and organs you are made of. And cells divide to regenerate the ones you have every few months or so (depending on which cell type). Cancer just means that cell division got out of control. The mechanisms that regulate it are abnormal and the cells are able to escape the checkpoints that keep normal cells non cancerous :)

I got an intracortical osteosarcoma in my early 30s, (33now) and I might loose my right leg (upper right tibia tumor), because yesterday I noticed the bastard grows the same bone downwards from the original tumor... It's a very unlikely way of spreading probably because intracortical-type (rarest type) grows inside the core of a bone and "prefers" surfacial expansion over spherical/volumal. It grows despite the chemo and shows no shrinkage at all in my opinion. I might be lucky to end up with "just" an amputation... So far, no metastasis, but there's a long way to go ahead. And does it feel better to have OS once you are in your 30s? Honestly I would prefer to have it experienced once I was more energetic, had my family more complete and way younger. The OS is a very weird cancer. Damn.

Got an extra preoperational chemo last week, quite enjoyed it ;-) Still got my leg, hope for salvaging it, and the surgery scheduled for 13th may. No metastases so far. The swelling is probably the effect of an inflammatory process, not the cancer itself, which, again, probably has not moved anywhere from my tibia yet. Everything will be cleared during the surgery, in a metaphorical sense and in reality... Stay positive and calm. Cheers
