I bough a carbou ostomy bags last week on Amazon, after having a horrible month trying to keep the coloplast bags with out leeking and been so desperate because I work in a restaurant I found out that Amazon sell differen brands. THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING PURCHASE NO LEEKINGS AFTER BEEN CHANGING 3 or 4 times a day with the Coloplast ones. The reviews on Amazon are AMAZING

Janet - yes, I'm with you 100 per cent on your comments. I've used empty toilet roll tubes - and an ideal size mousse cap!! They do EXACTLY the same job. To be honest - I don't find using pressure devices work that well anyway....my bag is the same if I use one - or not!! An adhesive can only be as sticky as it is...so if you press down its only gonna stick deepening on its adhesive strength. It is VERY important to hold the adhesive down with the flat of your hand on the skin for AT LEAST a minute, I find. This "warms" the adhesive and gives a better overall seal to the skin.

I'm a CNA (certified nursing assistant) , and was told by lazy nurses who didn't want to hassle with cleaning or changing the bags that it was MY job (it is the RNs responsibility , it goes under wound care management category) and as mortified when the LPNs and RNs told me it was my job to do in a nursing home (they claim they don't want to deal with the smell) It can land me in trouble for doing it if the state catches me cleaning or changing them since nurses are supposed to do this. I feel somewhat better about the procedure , as CNAs are not trained to do this , and it is not in our text book from school.

+rlucas343 rlucas343 Are you kidding me!!!! Sorry it has been a year that you posted this and I am seeing this now and am appalled at that.... I had a temp Ileostomy and then 10 years later a permanent all together 4 years with an ostomy. EVERY time I end up in the Hospital or ER never is there a certified Nurse who knows how to change it and am lucky enough I guess to not have come across these people that you know because these nurses OR CNA's (You DO NOT need to be a certified Nurse to do this, it is not open heart surgery ; - ) were always interested and even excited in getting in the experience of knowing how to change and treat a stoma.. Those are Lazy and uncaring (if you want to call them) Nurses and good for you for having the care because this is NOT easy for us.. It is hard. It is hard to talk about, it is hard to deal with on many different levels.. So thank you for your caring. By now you have probably done your du-diligence and know everything you need to know but if you ever want to go to a website and learn more, there is a site called Inspire. Jenny L Jenny, just curious what turned your temporary into a permanent ileostomy?

I just got my ilesostomy about 3 weeks ago, and thankfully have not dealt with any major leaks. The only time it leaked was due to the bags adhesive having pealed a bit up allowing the output to slowly make its way out and onto the bag/phlange! I just got about 6 sets of two pieces (click on ones) that I am excited to try out! Thanks for the video!

Detergent cap, random sizes in cookie cutters or prescription bottles do the same the thing been using them since 2015. Is this something new on the market? How much is it? My cap was free with the purchase of my detergent 😊

I use skin protection wipes, a small pice of eckon seal by the belly button, put on my Coloplast wafer after heating it up with a blow dryer. Put the wafer on and use a pill bottle to push down. Put the heated wafer extenders on. Put bag on. I get anywhere from 10 to 14 days out of it. The longest I had one on was 18 days.

I haven't read any of the responses yet but I don't get it. What is it about this device that helps create more of a barrier around the stoma? Depending on the response my next question would be it looks like something you could use any kind of device that would fit the area like the cap of some kind of bottle or something like the cap of hair mouse or detergent, does anyone see where I am going with this? Hope I didn't sound confusing. I have had an Ileostomy for 3 years now and would love to find something that helps with leaking just need to know the dynamics of what this is. Thanks
