me with 1/12, having a perfectly timed map: lol okay
@edouardo26662 жыл бұрын
@@zephyr4494 No, just, no. It probably isn't perfectly timed, you can't choose the time signature of the song, it may sound good to you, but in reality it probably isn't correctly timed at all, and that's something you do not want. Most musics (and when I say most I mean ALMOST EVERY SINGLE MUSIC THAT EXIST) uses 1/4 of 1/3, sometimes 1/6 and even 1/8 but in all the music I've ever mapped NONE of them used anything else. It's EXTREMLY and I mean EXTREMELY rare to see music without like 1/12 or 1/16 beats so no, it isn't timed right. (Also there's great chances you've already quit mapping but if you didn't and still map to this day then nice ! Go on ! It's not for everyone anyway it's kinda complicated)

@@edouardo2666 So if i time my map 90 BPM 1/8 , i should change it to 180 BPM 1/4 ?
@edouardo26662 жыл бұрын
@@Kamil_Srnka oh, 90bpm is always 90bpm, that's the tempo of the song, 1/8 in your editor can be used as 1/4 if you're lazy and if you only use the 1/4 lines, but if you're a beginner at mapping I recommend only using 1/4 and 1/3 when needed. Mapping is all about representing the song. If there's a sound in the music in 1/4 diviser, use 1/4. If there's a sound in 1/3 in the music, use 1/3. The more you listen the easier it'll be to recognize the sounds and rhythms.

Would be cool, if the editor would have a "beginner" and a "expert" mode maybe, so its easier for new mapper to get into mapping.
@MrNigel1176 жыл бұрын
How would you feel about maps using 2+ AR settings to represent the music better? Such as Camellia's remix of Chrono Diver mapped by Lavender when it picks up late in the song, and other songs that have significant changes in bpm or drastic changes in it's intensity. I think that it could be an interesting way to map (even though I don't map) as well as add in new "gimmicks" that mappers tend to follow either in their style or a specific map, and more fun stuff for Aspire and meme mappers. Of course ranking this would have to follow some guidelines to not abuse it, and something would probably have to be added so that game can tell when the change happen so that it can be displayed when playing with HD.

Because when I was checking some maps in the editor their timeline was freakin' fast and all of them were 1/4 but fast. And when I change it to 1/4 it's slow... Sorry for my english. england is not my city. If you don't understand my question then.. reply.

Osu!mapping Forum threads, info on the new modding system and the old system and how to make the thread itself appeal to others to look at. Few things that could be discussed are like the banner art thing what some people do, changelogs what people do, GD's what people do, tags ect ect. That could make for an interesting video :) Also, these videos have helped me a lot thanks!

Maybe make a mapper tutorial potentially in Lazer? So basically there will be a few songs that are easy to map, and they'll be mapped by experienced mappers. It'll show you how to work some things as the mapper follows. The mapper will do one part after the instruction is shown, and the tutorial will sort of help the mapper as they try to map the next part. It'll try and tell the inexperienced mapper what they might have done right or wrong, and the new mapper would have to learn from that.

do you/does anyone think that with osu lazer the mapping rules might be changed to include some currently illegal mapping gimmicks? Specifically placing circles on the field during the time when a slider is being played? Or is that opening the flood gates too wide?
