I heard Sette killed himself due to his father passing away from a heart attack, and he self-banned himself 7 days before he committed suicide.

It could make sense since Bikko was hesitating in his tweet about mentioning disappeared players. But thats a far stretch to take as evidence @@ik0nino
@user-l6s4 күн бұрын
@@ik0nino I remember one night (when I was still unbanned) I was browsing the forums of the osu! website and somehow came across a thread about a "Sette Appreciation Thread". I got that information from pure memory, but I could be wrong... Also, the thread seems to be deleted..? I can't find it anymore

Nice video👍. Fun fact: TTTL is also known for the "TL" playstyle in taiko, where you hit the same key with two fingers to play faster patterns
@1022fa4 күн бұрын
non related, but SiLviA was one of my first inspirations as a mouse player when i first started playing, i used his skin for over a year and would play only maps that he had a score on and try to snipe him. good video tho and i hope more and more osu content creators will make more documentaries like this.

That moment when you remember all of these names. Especially TTTL since he was both in osu! and Taiko a god for its time. Melancholy and ReimuSS I totally forgot about. Wow.

Great job! I'll only left two things here: - looking for an old JP blogs here may the the best choice you'd ever do. They're suprisingly often up despite of years, untoched from old Osu times and contains many of the most weird and unhinged game's lore. Maybe only old Naver Korean forums may deal with that. - I'll not find a source here, but I remember that also some drama and conflicts between top JP players were involved in their downfall. From 2014 World Champions to a lose in Group Stage of OWC 2015 (and with only 2 previous year team members still playing) and no team at all in 2016 (they just couldn't decide).

i absolutely love looking at old osu history, it's always fun to look at old liveplays since the playstyles used to vary so much more compared to nowadays thanks for making this video, learned about a ton of new old players i hadn't even heard of until now

iirc, before tap+x is now called "tap+x", tobebuta was the person who really pushed that playstyle to the forefront, thus some would call tap+x "tobestyle".

As a Japanese person, I can confirm that most people here don't understand english at all so idk why Japan is ranked so high🤔
@KacKLaPPeN233 күн бұрын
As someone who's now been living in japan for 3 months and has a hard time with japanese.... I agree. I also heard that there is a new ranking where japan came in second to last and I would agree with that. Though it's also always the people you expect the least who end up being able to speak pretty decent english. I picked up a rental car once and after about 30min of google translate conversation with the rental guy, the 60+ year old mechanic came to say hi and speak to us in english lmao.

9:20 the video was saved on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, it looks like it was unlisted for a while but because of KZbin privating all unlisted videos made before a specific time period it was probably privated as a result of that.

Fun fact: osu!catch is not based on EZ2Catch, but rather on rdm Catch it! mode ; )
@seg36204 күн бұрын
0:35 in ez2catch you use turntable to catch fruits and your catcher's speed is unlimited, while in osu!catch you use left and right controls + dash and your catcher speed is limited, so ez2catch has nothing to do with osu!catch being kinda popular in sk

I hope you continue with this and make a type of series with it, back then I found some of the oldest osu players and I found one from my country (México) called Nitro iirc, and only found a few replays and tournament runs from him, I asked in an osu latinoamerican server and nobody could tell who he was and I really wanna know what happened to him 😢

it's also not just that they're rank 11th overall as a country, but what's sadder is that for OWC this year (2024) they're 20th seed and exited in QF-LB1 which is around 17th-24th in placing which is expected from quals seed but still sad to see them fight the best teams like they used to
