Generally, those who purchase a 911 Porsche are not disappointed. Lots of comfort; handling the curves better than anything in the world (except some cars costing at least a half-million dollars); amazing fit and finish inside and out. High top speed is not the highest. It is just higher than human beings can normally drive. 30-60 speed to rival any car in the world. Carrera, S or GTS, these are the cars that provide everything that 95% of all Porsche drivers require. GT3 and above are cars that people buy only because they feel they should. Still a lot of the Super cars are sold. The car is incredibly safe, although if one is hell bent upon killing oneself, that is also possible but very difficult. As one person reviewed this car said, PDCC is almost unnecessary because the chassis is so stiff already that the car remains flat 98% of the time. Rear wheel steering is a nice addition, especially in slow situations. Front axle lift makes sense, particularly for those who might customize the suspension.AF

All it means is they have enough spare cash every month to make the payments, thats all. A flash car is not a sign of massive wealth. Too many show offs these days.

Best place for an engine is in the back. You realize that when you own a 911. You can come out of corners putting out a lot of power and full power once past halfway through. Mid engines give you too much noise right behind your seat (no storage either) and with front engines you have a wrestling match through the corners when you push hard. A joy turning into corners with a 911 making you feel like a pro and they don't lose control easily like other super cars Try putting heavy items in the front of your grocery cart and then see how difficult it is to turn vs putting the heavy items in the back. Love my S4 too with over 450hp with a cheap tune. A monster.

Outstanding review - and I've seen them all, at least all reviews I could find for the last eleven months. Disclaimer: I'm not objective at all, my Carrera S Cabriolet will delivered in April. ;-) It might not be cheap, but you will definitely get your money's worth and more. PS: besides this being a concise, well balanced overview of the car's features, your articulation, vocabulary and general tone would make this perfect material for any English lesson. I would have loved to watch and listen to something like that when I've been learning English back in the .... well, some decades ago. ;-) (I'm from Vienna, Austria)

Eliminating the nearly perfect hidden drivers cup holder was a big mistake by Porsche. They may want to stuff electronics in their. The cup holder is more important. A deeper and more cargo room center console would have made way, way more sense. AF

Love Porsche, I currently have a 2018 Panamera and a much cherished old Boxster ive had from new. I love E mode on the Panamera but also love the ICE. I have a deposit on a Taycan and looking to get a 992 4S to go with it so I really have the best of both worlds. I very much enjoyed your review of the 992 its excellent best I've seen and I think I've watched them all. Would like to see a review of the Taycan. Not many out there and most are by purely EV lovers so not necessarily very balanced. Many thanks.

The Taycan is a first generation effort, the 911 has ballooned too much in size, weight and price - though a lightly optioned base Carrera or Carrera S version is still an OK deal. I say replace your old boxster with the 2021 pdk equipped 718 spyder. PS: You should have gotten the Panamera 4S. The hybrid is compromised as a sports sedan by weight, weird regenerative braking and like any hybrid it wastes your time with geeky, obsessive stuff that have no place is a sporty luxury car.

Great review. In my opinion, just because cheaper cars have a simple version of self driving features etc. doesn't mean all buyers of this car are looking for that, I personally prefer my car to be without features like parking warning etc. to avoid those ugly cut-outs for the sensors, for a feature nobody needs. Especially with park camera it's even more useless to have warnings for proximity. Most drive assist features are rubbish anyway, I always disable it first thing. It's all just toys and gadgets that purist enjoying the of driving pleasure of a perfected vehicles don't care about.

This is an absolutely terrific car. Funny thing though, but when you were naming off other cars and their prices to compare against the Porsche 911, you somehow left one particular car off the list. I imagine it’s because that car has blown the Porsche away in terms of performance, power, and a drastically BETTER interior. That’s the all new C8 Corvette. How could you leave a car that’s beaten the Italian’s best at their own game with a car that’s literally a third to fourth the price, is far more reliable, and gets drastically BETTER fuel economy? The all new rear (mid) engined CORVETTE C8 easily beats this Porsche hands down. Eats it for lunch. But I do LOVE this all new Porsche. Its STILL a great car! It’s a beautiful car as well. But then again, so is the new Corvette. It’s right behind the Corvette on my very short shopping list.

I like tradition too. However Porsche needs to update the steering wheel and square off both the bottom and the top. They should start with the bottom and one year later, the top. Yields better vision on top and more leg room on the bottom. The HUD is an advantage of rivals and should be addressed as well.

Really great review of the car. My view is this. If you buy one of these cars, in my view, aren't you buying it for how it drives? I could give a damn about the sat nav. I want to goose this thing in the flats and feel the G's in the corners. I've been wrong but, that's my opinion.
