Great detailed comparison between previous and new - fantastic. I liked the line up of the generations. You asked us which one we preferred: the original 1963-1968 911, typically a 1968 911S. Interesting details of "911 changes discussion" - Braun shaver included! Liked the German for duck-tailed spoiler. Driving part, driving and commentary excellent as always. It’s a cultural thing, very, very Germanic, but he also lacks basic knowledge. He had no clue the names for each rim option. Knowing everything available for configuration should be a minimum for his job. Also the PDCC makes a high % of drivers sick with unnatural body roll but he never mentions it?

The point about the interior being "wrapped tightly" that Thomas makes, especially when he is discussing Porsches, is very insightful. It essentially means that Porsche operates under tighter degrees of error in fitment. When the interior is "wrapped loosely", it makes it a great deal easier to hide poor fitment behind overlapping join lines.

Great update to a legendary car .Love the style ,fantastic interior .Some people hate the gear shifter but I like it.I love the mix of digital and old school anologue dials. This thing will become a hit for Porsche for sure .Great review Thomas !

As always a fantastic review! Thank you very much Thomas. Love the design details on the new 911. Porsche did a great job on the evolution of the car. Interesting design fact by the way, that really shows the lovely details on the car - the two upper small brake lights represent an 11. If you count the black slats from the left or right, they always add up to a 9. This shows real love for the design.:)

Thanks for showing all the models through the ages. First time I've seen them all lined up together like that. All the way through your review I thought I preferred the 991 but seeing them all lined up made me realise I actually like some of the retro features like the bonnet on the 992. When lined up against its predecessors especially the 991 the 992 just looks a crisper more aggressive design. Helped make my mind up about my next Porsche.

July 1971...I almost bought a 1970 911S...competition Orange. Dealer offered it to me @$5100, $1000 off sticker. That was a lot of dough, more than I had. Sad. At 21 years old, would I have survived the car? I often wonder. Top speed in excess of 140 mph. Oh yes, 6 carbs, manual shift 5 speed, full synchromesh, no power steering and no AC, . Just pure car, nothing on her, that didn't need to be there. Old men dream of the ones that almost were.

Awesome review, like always, in depth, objective, straight to the point, no unneeded exaggerations. I prefer the look of the 991 over the 992, it looks cleaner. That shaver looks out of place, I hope the change it in the facelift. My favourite generation of the 911 is the 964.

To begin, very visually appealing and cinematographic start to the review. One of your best I've seen so far Thomas. From the front view, you can see that its a bit wider, by a couple millimetres. I love how the door handle pops out when you unlock the car. In terms of haptic feedback, I'm sure once you use it for a while it will become normal. I love the rear view and tail lights, and the rear 3/4 view is pure gorgeousness. I prefer the cleaner look without the rear wiper. The rear "seats" are really non-existent. Unless your using them for kids, they're just meant for luggage space. Most persons that can afford these cars have an suv or crossover already. I'd thoroughly enjoy specking one of these oh yes I would.

Not Sure if I like the design better then the predecessor (991 for me is the absolute favorite 911 Design wise ) but the view at 5:18 is BEAUTIFUL! This has to be the nicest angle to look at it, since the back is so pronounced now

A few weeks ago I just got a beautiful Carrera 911 4S loaded with options even though this new 911 2020 will start coming to America in August. I like many things on 2020 911, but my heart is still with its predecessor, the current 911.
