The fact that they are taking out a meet and greet that doesn't even have a true backdrop to "cut back on entertainment costs" is kind of absurd. You're saving the cost of probably only 8 people a day which is the grand scheme of things isn't that much. Taking out entertainment in Disney Parks is never the solution, that is a huge part of what people come for and expect, and them cutting back on small things like meet and greets that don't take up space or that many people seems really stupid. 😠 Bring back Oswald!!

I am so sad to hear this. We had such a magical meet and greet with him. We were the last people in line and he spent extra time with us. He then ran for the gates and his “handler” had to direct him back. So funny. I don’t know how to get to Disney corporate and change their minds.

So I'm pretty sure it's only temporary. I used to work at Disney and one of the friend's of Oswald who is also an entertainment lead had said Oswald was going to get pulled for the holidays. Which makes sense considering a lot of characters you meet with have special costumes or fit the theme. Since that blog that posted this information (as far as I am aware) it's Disney official it MAY have just misunderstood? And /or just didn't clarify it was temporary? As far as my friend knows he was supposed to only be pulled for the holidays so here's hoping that he comes back the beginning of next year 8)

This is especially sad for me because as a kid I had tons of great memories in California adventure and now that there’s no more paradise pier or bugs land or even tower of terror, California adventure is beginning to feel like the Disney junkyard. Like if we can’t put it in Disneyland we’ll have to dump it in DCA, but now with no Oswald I’m starting to really lose faith in Disney as a whole.

Dude, my wife and I live on the east coast and we visited Disney Land last year for the first time and the day we were at DCA he never came out :( and now this news is devastating. Hopefully it's only for a short amount of time that he'll be gone or they will give him a different spot because meeting him was a must for when we go back for D23 next year

Is there any info on when he will be pulled? I was there last summer (in July) and I got to meet him again. I plan on going this upcoming summer and hope to see him again, at least for the last time. I've always wanted to visit DL, for a multitude of reasons - Oswald being a major draw. His place in history. But Cali from the UK isn't as easy or affordable as WDW. And taking this away means it'll just take longer to make my way there.

If you receive a Disneyland or Walt Disney World survey complain about the budget cuts that are currently happening. I believe 4 or 5 entertainment offerings were just cut between both resorts.

The current Management continues to remove "Disney" from both parks, especially California Adventure. PIXAR, PIXAR, and only Pixar in CA. Princesses are gone for a Gastro Pub. Marvel replaces most classic Disney characters. If the Lasseter scandal has not happened, the Walt and Mickey Statue would probably have been replaced with a 20' John Lasseter nude Statue pissing into the fountain. Disneyland continues to have characters reduced. No longer do you find Aurora, Alice, Peter Pan, Moana, etc. every day. No Pixies other than Tinkerbell, no
