Yes, it will suck, but most people would rather know if their loved ones are hospitalized than to be kept out of it and find out later. Plus, the boy is in critical condition. He could easily die. It makes way more sense to tell his family on Whale Island and bring them here so they can at least visit Gon and possibly spend his last moments with him just in case.

Eeeeexactly! Ging is indeed an awesome dude, but he's the jerk of all jerks. Probably near Rick Sanchez level as a c"£$% dad. Leorio did what every single reader wanted to do. It is also a small detail and probably only my thought, but the punch teleporting in front of Ging would also be as many readers immagine that to heppen because it's kind like the only, impossibile way to see that happening: one of us breaks the fourth wall from nowhere and slap/punch/kick Ging in the face.
