That was a great job. I do mine as static "Ready Room" model, I was never good at lights. Truly resistance IS Futile! As I have either blown the lights or melted the model. My model has the extra decal set from Aztec Dummy. And she was Named USS Angelfire NCC-75025 (based on the SFI chaper of the same name in Phoenix, AZ).

What an EPIC build. Absolutely fantastic to see this process and how the obstacles were overcome. So much to learn and appreciate here. 👍🏼

I have done 3 of these. I have NEVER been able to glue the dang nacelle grilles straight. I end up wth grilled spaghetti. I was all set to see how you were going to do it... but you skipped over HOW you did it, just showed the excellent result. The last one I gave up and actually made up decals with the grille pattern and applied them to the nacelle tops. Works okay, but not sure about longevity (they have been sealed with clear coat). Great build as always!

I’ve never really liked this version of the Enterprise until now! You made me love it. You turned a static model into a hero ship!

Great build!! I realy enjoy your videos Otaku! If you are looking for a little bit of a decal hack, i stumbled upon this one not too long ago and it really sped up my decal game. Instead of using a bowl of water, use a wet pallet. Put the decals you will need onto the wet pallet (without the parchment) and they won't over saturate and float off the backing. Great for builds with alot of small decals or escape pods :P Please keep the videos coming!

As an addendum to my previous remark- I noticed in your beauty shots at the end that the nacelle grilles have separated from the plastic and are all wavy. So we are not alone.😧

Man, I wish star trek models just weren't so hard to come by. There's a 1:350 TOS enterprise 50th anniversary edition by polar lights at one of my local comic shops just tucked up on a top shelf in the back corner of the store that i'm contemplating getting, especially since he only has it priced at 150.

Beautiful build. I agree with you about switching things up and trying new things. On my channel I usually build cars but my last build of last year and the first of this year were gundams. I tried whole new ways of doing things and painting, I loved it. I’m going to be expanding my subject matter more often.

Great job with the custom lighting! It's been a LONG time since I built a model kit (probably sometime in the 1990s), but I had to laugh when you said the fun part was beginning with the water slide decals. I remember feeling like the decal step was the worst part for me. Some of the larger ones weren't too bad, but I probably wrecked/lost about 60% of the little ones if not more! II can't remember what brand it was but there were a few kits that had straight glued decals and they were easier to apply for me, but they weren't too strong and the small ones fell off. I didn't know about adding a clear coating to protect models back then, but I suspect that might have helped. I'm currently in the process of renovating a room to be a display/gaming/maker room and once it's done I plan to start building models again and videos like this help motivate me.

Great job, but next time look after COB LED STRIP! That’s a led strip where the LED’s are covered with a “colored” silicone and prevents a bit the problems with hot-spots! Also make the strip in the nacelles a inch larger,so you can cover the whole nacelle cap… base color and build is AWESOME! Thanks for the tips and tricks!

Bro you did a nice job as always. A little subjestion why not use the extra parts from the second kit and the failed parts to make crashed diorma. That would look really sick.

Absolutely gorgeous work! Always love watching your vids! I've been building for quite a few years now (mainly gundam and scifi kits) and I've always wanted to get into putting led's in my work, but I'm so intimidated in the wiring/powering part of it. Are there any beginner friendly vids you could point me to on your technique?

Very impressive! Quick question though, with all those Pico LEDs at 3 volts, what do you use as a power supply? A usb charger?

The two Warp Drive Engine Nacelles of the Enterprise-E should have been designed with double the size. In my humble opinion, their current disproportionately small size imparts a general sense of weakness to the ship's appearance, which seems at odds with its supposed war and speed capabilities.

I can never have the patience to build any model.

Please tell me, did you install a different cable for the strobe lights on the backs of the warp nacelles? Did I miss the cable pulling while assembling the pylons? (I only saw the red/black twisted cable for the engine lights). How'd you do it? Turned out great and thanks for sharing.
@OtakuBuilder7 ай бұрын
To answer your question no. The strobes are all on one circuit. But the limit is only four

I have watched this channel a year, For the footage, I thing you put in too long for the color spray, It's so boring, I will jump many times to see any special things. Also I thing you should show longer for your final result, Like this episode you just show me around 1:20 for your final result, It just less then 10% for this episode, We can't see a lot details like colors, LED light, somebody details, weapon details etc. Wish can improve you for the channel and keep going, I very enjoy to watching you how to design Led light for the kit.
